This is the perfect mix of bombastic vocals and pure emotional investment in the character... You can really hear and feel Mabel's anger and frustration in this song! Way to go, Hellen!
Jag tycker Helen borde göra trettondagskonserten varje år som standard liksom, båda hon har gjort har ju varit helt awesome om jag får uttrycka mig så :P

I love Helen Sjöholm when she sings music suited to her voice; this performance is dreadful. She is SADLY below her best. This music was not written for head voice -- it's painful to hear her attempt to belt while using head voice (ex: 0:41, 1:30, 1:36, 1:54, etc.). And when she does use chest to belt, she holds a white (no vibrato), strident tone.... I've never heard this song performed so dreadfully.
@mmdillons I don't think it's that bad, but that's just my unlearned opinion of it. "I'll go to hell" wasn't pulled off so well, but the other parts are good. Certainly this song selection isn't the greatest--I don't think "big band" songs particularly suit her type of voice, or her for that matter. She seems to sing better and with more enjoyment in musicals (Chess, Kristina, etc.).
As for her being below her best, she might've passed her vocal peak age (30s), sadly.
@Felicity1247 I thought she pulled the emotion of the song off beautifully. It's not a pretty song...it's gutsy, and the white notes add to the gutsiness. So do the growls that she puts in (i.e., "I'll go to hell", which I thought was fabulous). She seems to be having a lot of fun to me.
@dvandewater: I have no idea what "white notes" are, unless it means "without vibrato". And yes, she does have fun here, but to me she really throws herself into musicals and has the most fun there. The growls--I've seen her pull off better ones, but even when she's not at her best she surpasses many other singers, at least. I think we listeners are too discriminating.
@Felicity1247 Ah, see, I've never seen her before this and was just blown away by the energy in her voice. I agree with you. We shouldn't pick it apart but just enjoy it as a great performance.
