  • ...what brand of shea butter do you use on your hair? Is there a particular place to get shea butter for natural hair? Thanks;)

  • Hi, Just wanted to know do you still shampoo your hair? If so, do you still use the Design Essentials shampoo? I like to shampoo and I try to use a more natural one but I don't like the ones I've tried so far. Thanks for any help.

  • Thanks forthe info on what products you use.

  • do you still stay near the oyin handmade store?

  • I do but I really dont go anymore. Been too lazy. lol

  • check your email

  • I have been permless for about a year now and I am just tryin to not have brittle and dry hair. I have finally gotten to a length with my hair which will allow me to wear twists or flat twists. I have limited access to the web at the moment, but if you don't mind could you please email me the name of the products that u use for you hair. I would greatly appreciate it. Your hair is absolutely beautiful by the way!

  • no, i haven't

  • that sounds scary...people really think of some odd stuff...@_@

  • thats dirty, why would you do that?

  • So much good info. I had cut all of my hair off years ago and am now growing it into an afro. I am trying to be patient so I will try these products. It is growing pretty fast though. Much faster than I expected. Thank you for the info!!!

  • Hi Janeezy,Im Taisha .I really lllloove what you do .Keep up the good work.Would you write down the hand made products you use for me please .I tried to get it right but i'm not.I love your hair ..great.I can't wait until mine grows!

  • Cute hair...I can't wait until my hangs that long!

  • Hey girl...Ive been checking out some of your vids....Im transitioning( 5months post) ...so im subscribing for updates and hair care tips for naturals....thanks

  • The pillowcase is freedom. I can slip slide and my hair stays put all night. I may use a scarf while awake to make my hair lay down otherwise the pillowcase can be picked up at any Beauty and Barber Supply.

    Thanks again Janeezy.

  • 6. Jamaican Mango and Lime ISLAND OIL.

I put drops on my scalp every day to keep my scalp moisture..its light with no build up plus it smells nice.

    7. a Silk Pillowcase. A pillowcase instead of silk head scarf or an elastic silk bonnet

because the scarfs unless tied tightly never stays for me plus tied to tight gives me headache. The elastic silk scarf causes thinning on my sides cause the elastic is rubbing my scalp al night while i sleep.

  • 4. Alaffia Shea&Virgin Coconut Enriching Lotion. Best leave in condtioner ever. This Mediterranean dude at Whole Foods hipped me to this. He has thick silky curly hair and his black girl friend has Kinky curly hair like our hair and they both use it and love it. Its pricy but worth it.

    5. Oyin handmade Whipped Pudding. LOVE IT!!!

    THE BOMB!!

  • 1. Dessert Essence Hydrating Shea Butter Shampoo. Plus add 5 drops of tea tree oil in your hand with shampoo.

    2. Nature's Gate Jojoba Revitalizing Conditioner for Damaged Hair. My hair is not damaged but its a great protein conditioner.

Note: Wash Protein conditioners out throughly.

Najahface taught me that..and that mini tidbit did reduce breakage.

    3. 100% Shea Butter added after I condition.

    Saturate. Saturate.

  • Janeezy..thank you girl.

Good lookin out on the products you use.

The Whip Pudding..MY GOD!! The bomb!!

Made a WORLD of difference with the moisture and longevity of holding my twist sets.

Took my about 2 years to really find products that work for me. I know some folks don't wanna here that but it takes some money and time investment to find what really works for your hair. after 16 years of rocking locs and now 2 years sport my fro and various twist styles. these are my staple items:

  • great video

  • Love that look..

  • I first seen you on the motowngirl website and I jus want to say that you are truely an inspiration to me. I have been transitioning for 6 months and have cut some relaxed hair off but not all. I am becoming really anxious and ready to b all natural. I have been doing twistouts for about a month and love it but I have 2 pend my twists down with bobbypins at nite so my twists dont unravel. What do you suggest I use on my twists to make them not unravel bcuz I want to wear them as a style?

  • the twists wont stay if you still have permed ends, what I used to do was put perm rods (the blue ones) on my ends.

  • Thx sssooo much:->

  • Can you show how you seran wrap it??? That sounds like an effective technique and I'd like to try it but I don't want to do it incorrectly.

  • loving that hair style

  • LOVE YOUR HAIR SIS! I've been natural for 8 years and have decided that I will just rock out with my OWN HAIR instead of braids. I'm experimenting with new products and will runnnnnnnn out and get me some coconut oil because I have not yet tried that. Thanks for sharing!

  • whats your hair type?

  • Great!!!

  • Your hair is the BOMB!

  • Wow. I've decided my last relaxer was the last. I hope I don't have to have that many products. I'm not really a hair person. I'm not sure why my hair is even as long as it is, because I basically only use 3 products. I'm so scared I'm going to be so lost when I'm officially transitioning. Natural hair seems so complicated. When most people talk about products they have like 20. It's probably going to be braids and cornrows for me. I want to get sisterlocks eventually.

  • LOL I felt the same way, about the amount of products other naturals I've seen on youtube use. have you looked at curlychronicles. she's a minimalist when it comes to products too

  • try unrefined virgin coconut oil for shine and sheen. it strengthens also.

  • Where can you find this??

  • at health food stores and even local grocers like kroger or publix. make sure you get organic pure unrefined virgin coconut oil (meaning the oil hasn't been processed in anyway so that all the nutrients are intact and benefits your hair and skin to the fullest). i paid 10 bucks for 16 oz(i believe) by spectrum.

  • girlm keep up for the natural cause i am to never had a perm

  • i like ur nails :) thnx for the video my hair grew very well

  • Thanks for the product info. I just had my BC 2 days ago and I have about 3" of newgrowth. I cant wait to trial and error some good products. I'm so excited lol.

  • great job

  • pretty

  • I wish i could figure out how to use my Oyin products and qhemet biologics products the right way because i have to be the only one that it doesn't seem to be working for. Are you applying them to wet hair or to dry hair? Your hair looks great!

  • YOUR Not the ONLY one RESHON30; I Bought 2 Qhemet Biologics recently and they are Pretty Good(and Moisturizing) but NOT $16 per jar good IMO. I like other products better and i can get my other ones from right up the street from me!(at whole foods,Trader Joes, and Ulta)..it just goes to show that Just because something works 4 one person doesn't mean it will work 4 us.

  • ur hair looks very nice gurl. lovin the volume

  • yay! another oyin luver! ^5

  • Girl Ive been recruiting more people for Oyin lol

  • hi how long did it take for your hair to grow that long??

  • check out my FAQS video!

  • How Much would you say you Protective style?..(example: 40% of the Time, 80% of the time) and Do you avoid Mineral oil?

  • Oyin's Honey Hemp Conditioner is wonderful! I love Qhemet's products too. The heavy cream, burdock root and olive & honey hydrating balm are great.

  • THANK YU!

  • I see that i am not the only one that thinks Oyin products take too long to get to you! I just ordered for first time like 2 weeks ago and still haven't gotten anything! I hope it is worth the wait. Have you tried the Define and Shine by them? I ordered a sampler with that and the pudding.

  • I don't know if you got your stuff yet (they have a message on their website and I know they just had a baby) but it took a month and then some for me to receive my stuff. I ordered it on April 8th and I got it on like May 12. Needless to say I won't be using their products again (and I didn't even like them that much). Just thought I would let you know :-)

  • Love the Honey Hemp and the Whipped Pudding. Lucky u, since you live so close and can get you Oyin quick. I order mine from the NaturallyCurl website.

Love you hair in this vid also!!!

  • you should try pantene pro-v relaxed and natural oil cream moisturizer, it's really nice

  • the whipped pudding makes a great lip balm also, you can use the honey hemp as a light leave-in if you go to oyin handmade's wedsite they have more usages for the products

  • oh yeah try the whipped shea butter from oyin. used it on my twist and they didnt dry out for like 3-4 weeks

  • are the twist with added hair? im loving it1!

  • great Info...i just Subbed :)

  • I love your twists and the shape of your hair is Lovely!

  • your hair is so pretty.

  • thanks for the video keep us updated = )

  • Thanks a lot for the info! I'm natural too and my hair is about your length, but I don't think as thick. Yours is beautiful, by the way. Anyway, I use Miss Jesse's, but I'm always looking other options. Thanks!

  • I'ved used misses jessie's too, i forgot about that, i reallllly like the baby buttercreme.

  • Girl, I keep a jar of baby butter creme! I used to order it from NY, but now there is a salon here in my city that sells it. I was so excited! Well take care! I look forward to more videos. I finally put one up today. Later!

  • You are so lucky! I stopped buying oyin b/c it takes so long for me to receive em, lol. Now, I'm addicted to Redken and Qhemet Biologics...I'm a serious pj,so I watch any and all product vids, lol.

  • :), very lucky. thanks.lol

  • I'm waiting on an oyin order right now-two as a matter of fact. I am getting turned off from their products because of the wait. how long does it take for you to get the Qhemet, and what to do you use from Qhemet and Redken??

  • I use the products from the Redken Extreme Line and their Clear Moisture line (everything except the shampoo). From Qhemet I use their Burdock Root butter cream, and the Amla and Olive Heavy Cream...the wait is long too, but the product is worth the wait :-)

  • I guess I'm being seriously impatient (they tell you right on the website about the wait b4 you buy), but I want my products and I want them now! I think eventually i will try Qhemet. Anyhow, thanks for the reply.

  • No, I feel you! That's why I don't order the ojin any more...takes waaaay too damn long :-(

  • Use your editor to split the video in half. Save one as part 1 and the other as part 2.

  • thanks hun, let me try that, i'm not too savvy with the video stuff.

  • Thx for the info!!
