  • they look to nice for homeless i mean no cuts or blemishes or rashes i mean i have cuts and stuff and i am not homeless and no dirt i am a wonder and a narcoleptic so when i fall a sleep out side i get dirt on me and i garden so ya no dirt under your nail oh being homeless makes you pale and skinny from a in proper diet and there teeth don't have to be dirty dam those are some nice teeth.

  • tho some of points may be valid about society being homeless is not the answer one because you become a more direct problem one of the reasons i say this is because Bubonic pleg is still rill and so are all the thing the third world dills with that is worst then just drilling but 3rd and 2nd world places pulsation is more deadly look up the dirtiest river sea and citys oh living the slum life is fun but you only liv so long to you get a parasite or HIV or scurvy or as simple as the flu

  • i miss doing that, i went from south florida and ended up in Minneapolis. then went west. got back to south florida because some cop felt bad for me for some reason and got me a bus ticket back home. greatest time of my life.

  • I was one of those kids. Very well done my friend.

  • I work a job I hate, own a car that's a cost, stuck in a routine of boredom, every evening watching vids of these folk my age living my dream..they have nothing, though it seems, but they're free,, unlike me it's not inbedded in their minds to have money, something of value.. I've worked for a car a drink a costly night out hav'nt traveled or seen the real, I've given money to the homeless & spent time with them & wow man what an insight..the stories the tales, you peeps are free..

  • I hope you do know that 95% off street kids chose to live like that. The ones i have met are happy the way they live. All i have to say is, they made their bed and they chose to sleep in it.

  • People who say the homeless are a burden on society.

My reply to them is :the only burden on society is money.

A Homeless poor person never impoversh a richman.

We should all really weep for you poor fortunate wealthy people and your plight. @----)-----

  • They are living this way alot by choice. nobody is forcing them to live like this. So are they going to live like that all their lives? if so, not much of a life.

  • @BarkinPeach I have to agree that crusties fetishize dirtyness and some purposefully make themselves dirty to look the part

  • This should be submitted to the Nat Geo! Epic!

  • read the sign ay 7;29 could not stop laughing omg way 2 funny

  • Beautiful! I have so much love and respect for the street kids eveywhere.Although Im no longer on the street my heart is and if u dont kno what i mean thats becouse you've never been there.Street life is hard but it set me free n so many ways!I found out what it really felt like to ''feel'' at home on the streets. The street kids welcomed me and loved me for me and wanted nothing but the same from me n return.I often miss squating becouse of that reason alone.I LOVE U ALL!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anybody else catch what the man in 7:26 sign says? Something about a son of a bitch with the world's biggest asshole took a shit back there so go with caution and something about even elephants, whales, and dinosaurs can't lay that big of shit. I find that hilarious. At least they still find humor in tough times.

  • Homeless or not...beautiful photography.

  • Gutterpunks bums and train hoppers can't afford a videocamera.

  • @bluemountaindrivepae Yeah they can, i got an iphone dipshit, we can afford just about anything we want to if we wanted it. spangeing duh

  • Lovin' you, brothers and sisters. Be safe out on the road, stay dry, and WAKE UP AND RAAAAAGE!!! Haha <3

  • more like hipster youth.

  • my real home is a fractal song, im a sonic youth aw yeah, blue heron nomad spirit

  • whats up with the depressing music?

  • I think it just moves too slow

  • THIS is true freedom. Awesome video.

  • @ErikjStudios F*** yeah, f*** yeah.

  • Good cocksuckers for slice of bread!

  • This makes me hungry for some shit toes for sure

  • did you see that girls shirt in the beginning..."Citizens For A Poodle-Free Montana" wtf hahaha...so awesome

  • im so tired of people judging and all the ridiculousness and ignorance in this world it makes me wanna die very bad

  • They need so much more than money to help them...money only lasts for so long before it's gone.

  • Being a bum is not punk rock and if your a bum by choice you can't complain about anything

  • Working class

  • Fucking bums begging for money I work hard for my money get a fucking job and take a fucking shower

  • I've met a lot of these kids and even had them sleep over in my home. Some of them are sad and some of them are having the time of their life. A lot of them drink because it's so boring spanging all the time, or they just have too much free time.

  • Those are Mirrors of the best days of "my" life too....nothing will ever compare

  • lol At all the people saying that the music is too sad and that these people are happy.

I know plenty of people like this.

    Yes,They can laugh and smile.

    Have a good time.

But so can a man on his deathbed.

But it's because they're making the most of what they have.

    They are sad

They don't want to be in that situation forever.

Alot of them don't have a choice like you twats.

  • i miss this life... it was amazing... freight trains.. hard a.. laughs and music n friends

  • @sttrawwberri

Yes,Because you can't have "laughs and music n friends" without being like this.....

  • @Skeletonwitharaygun Oh excuse me I had no idea you knew the whole street kid population and that they are all sad. Sadness is only a perception, they can feel any way they want to if they know how to which i'm sure many of them do. Why should it matter if it appears to be an uncomfortable situation? When a person is enjoying their life and living it to it's fullest why is that not good enough for society's standards? It makes them stronger, wiser, it teaches one a lot.

  • BOO!!! YOUR PICTURES ARE WORTHLESS TO THE MEMORIES WE HAVE!!! I LIVE FOR TODAY YOU LIVE FOR NEXT YEAR!!!

  • BOO!!! YOUR PICTURES ARE WORTHLESS TO THE MEMORIES WE HAVE!!!

  • the pictures are good, but the music so depressed , thats sux, and I don't think that all homeless are unhappy, i think this is the kind of freedom, so u can call me homeless too...

  • And honestly, street kids don't even bother me. I have no problem with them lying around and doing nothing. But don't talk shit about how blind society is, or how we've been shackled by the reigns of conformity, when you're no different. There's nothing unique about any of you. Stop talking about "political corruption" and "social slavery". No one gives a shit about your political beliefs. We get it. You all "see the truth". You're such rebels for "breaking free". Now shut the fuck up.

  • There's nothing "good" about being a street kid. They're all hypocrites. Most of the gutter punks around here talk shit about everyone who crosses their path. They criticize you for being materialistic and dependent on money, which is the most ironic thing ever, considering it's the same shit you panhandle for day in and day out. And materialism? You wear clothes, beg for money and food and squat in abandoned shelters. There's nothing "free" about that. You're a bunch of neo-hippie children.

  • THEY SHOULD BE PLAYING FILTH IN THE BACK ROUND WHAT IS THIS CRAP???

  • lol what a wonderful job you've done of distorting the lifestyle. It's a protest to the fantasy you live and expect everyone to live you dork. THese kids are jammin out all the time, not starving and collecting stories.

Are you so simple to believe that they'll do this forever?

  • Beautiful. I miss it....

  • what is with this sappy ass fucking music?????

  • 4:14 kids are doing gas!

  • yeah why is the music all depressing. ahhah i travel. put some louis armstrong over this. ahah.

  • Street kids are truly the most beautiful people i've ever encountered. They have more insight in life than anyone i've ever met. They can be truly happy hopping trains and sleeping outside, because its true freedom and shows you you don't need to be rich and live in a home to be happy. Not diggin the sad music, it's beautiful. They're all beautiful people.

  • @Skutfarkusacarcus Yeah, it's great freedom having no home, no food, no clean clothes, being filthy and skinky, and having dogs that you can't really care for. It's also really great to do nothing to contribute to the advancement of the human condition. Great life! Good plan.

  • @keeg021985 Thanks for seeing it my way, ma'm. It's a lot better of a lifestyle than say, the americans who do truly nothing for this world. They sit and take your money, they throw you in prisons for your money, they'll do anything for your money. They thrive on the dirty currency. They make materials and possesions everything, constantly trying to make the newest most hightech thing for all the lazy fatass americans. Free life, natural life, real life I find a much more rewarding life. ^.^ <3

  • @Skutfarkusacarcus I recommend you re-read my original comment.

  • @keeg021985 dirp obviously I know what ya said, ma'm.

  • @keeg021985 If you look at it the way you are, of course it looks lousy. But the beauty is you don't need a home or clean clothes or good hygiene to be happy. And i've never met a street kid who couldn't take care of their animals, all the street dogs and cats i've encountered are very happy and well taken care of and are very loving. I wonder, do you contribute to the "advancement of the human condition"? Hm. These kids take what life gives them and are still happy. It's inspiring. ^^

  • @Skutfarkusacarcus Weirdly distorted view of things. Yes, I contribute. I have a B.S. in biochemistry, and an M.S. in applied animal behavior; I'm in a doctoral program for canine ethology. I've also been a volunteer at my local SPCA, and other local animal rescue groups, for almost 10 years. These kids are doing nothing to advance themselves or anyone else --- they're a burden on society.

  • @keeg021985 Is it distorted or do you just see it as such because it's not YOUR perspective?Because it's not your way of thinking it's wrong? Oh yes, yes indeed it is. Everyone knows that. And oh really are they a burden to society?Society is a burden to our beautiful mother earth. Society is revolting. I wouldn't want to be accepted by people who drill into the earth and suck it dry of its resources, control and brainwash citizens, look down upon you because of your lack of money.Congratulations

  • @Skutfarkusacarcus I understand your view on things. I really do. Pretty much Buddhism....would you agree? "The origin of suffering is attachment"<--2nd Noble Truth. I completly agree with that. But why not atleast establish a place to live and funds for food? You don't have to fill it wit a bunch of material shit. But it'll be warm. Cops can't just walk in and kick you out. It would have Running water that you can use whenever you want.
  • @Skeletonwitharaygun Once on the street, it's hard to get off. A lot of streetkids look out for eachother, like a family. The ones who never really had one finally do. Also, it proves to be difficult to obtain a job when asked for your address you put "under a bridge" ya know?

Obviously they cannot afford somewhere to live, that's why they're homeless. And if they do find a ramshackle run down shed no ones even using and sleep in it, they get kicked out. Isn't our police system just super?

  • @Skutfarkusacarcus Who are you and why in the hell are we not friends?! U are so right on plse contact me i think we cld really open some eyes n piss some yuppies off with our veiws dude!I dont even know u but i love u jus for what u said here!

  • @MsDrifter28 Awe well thank ya kindly, missus.

  • True that, whats up with the sad music? This is TRUE FREEDOME!!

Some of those people are friends of friends.

  • True that, whats up with the sad music? This is TRUE FREEDOME!!

  • Its hard to quit this lifestle once your in it. I have been a street kid for some time now and whenever I stop for a while I always seem to find a way back out on the train tracks traveling from place to place. The truth is I love the shit out of the life. I just dont want to spend the rest of my life doing it. Probably will though...

  • stay out of chicago

  • @77punkrockwarlord whats wrong with Chicago?

  • @Vissago22 77 kids in Chicago don't like squatters

  • How are they dressed nice? Because in the dumpster you can find brand new clothing, jewelry, shoes, furniture, dishware, slightly edible food and fresh food. In college dumpsters you can find laptops, cameras, ipods, tons of valuables get tossed at the holidays. Waste is so widely acceptable in our culture that living off of American waste is easy as pie, so long as you have the nerve to dig through garbage. Practical to gather up your second-hand supplies while in urban areas.

  • get a job

  • hahha its so true im an ex travler never missed a sunrise or sunset living every day to its fullest this is a piece of shit go fuck yourself and stop putting down our goddamn family bastards

  • haha

    no p38 @ 7:54

  • @kaynedpain I ALWAYS have my p38 at the ready.

  • There is no glamor in being homeless. Constant danger. Constant hunger. No privacy. No medical treatment. A nightmare. A third world country within the greatest country in history. A strange contrast and yet it is everywhere in the United States. More homeless will be added to the ranks as the economy falls even further downhill. Get ready You Tube viewers you or I could very well the next people in these slide shows very soon. You think not? 14 million unemployed. 2 million housing forclosures.

  • @mountainstandardtime fuck u man

  • @mountainstandardtime Good point, but these kids in the slideshow aren't home bums. Sure, they sleep outside and spange, but they don't fly "Anything helps. God bless." signs on the mediun. They travel and are much more self-reliant than the typical down and out homeless. I lived that life for years and not once did I call myself homeless.

  • What's with the music, you fuckin' hippie? Can't hang with the punks, then FUCK OFF! I've had more fun in the dirt than any of you fagot ass little bleeding heart trendie hippie housie fucks would ever allow yourselves to have.

  • the fucking best way of life

  • I'm going to visit Brodie in a couple of days. It's so fucking weird when people put these slide shows together...

  • I may not have the master's luxury, but I am free.

  • guess whats for dinner...?

  • wow, whoever made this deffinately they are great pictures but it almost feels like you are tryin to make this lifestyle look sad and depressing, when really all we are doing is living our lives to the fullest.

  • @smo1765 BULLSHIT I know gutter punks who have been gutter punks for decades.

  • YouTube recommended this video. With all the innovative ideas in the works one would hope there is some capital to help with this issue. Children should not start their lives off homeless and as adults should never become homeless

    E-T.

  • I actually know a lot of these kids, and some of these pics were taken at my house.

  • as a personal friend of brodies i think he would laugh at this gay ass music and how dramatic this is, lol

  • tragic :(

  • Brilliant!

  • at 32 seconds is my friend katrina from helena montana now lives in new orleans

  • tragic

  • @smo1765 Did you know that the life expectancy of a homeless youth is only 4 years?

  • best time..

  • this is beautiful<3

  • i thought this was bullshit till i saw some of my friends.

annie is there a long time ago at 8:52 with the dog.

    good show.

all good kids havin' the best time of their lives.

    i assure you.

  • i promise myself, to become what i am in my dreams. No one should have to live homeless.

  • i really like this montage. it captures what traveling is really like. its a beautiful peice

  • may we all rise up one day and become what we know we are

  • Mike Brodie "polaroid Kidd" took these his old website is gone, if anyone knows if he has another up let me know.

    cheers

  • why did they carve up that opossum? didn't look like they were going to eat it.

  • How did it not look like they were not gonna eat it? Because skinning it like they were seems like they are gonna eat it for sure.

  • I am a train hopping squatter from the netherlands and I LOVE this piece of art.

  • can somebody download this video for me? I'm a train hopping squatter myself and I LOVE this video

  • Believe it or not they actually have myspaces. YES! The chick at 3:10 is Tattoo Annie. They just do this for fun, they run around, hop on trains, get drunk, take photos, get high, squat....whatever. A majority of the people in this vid choose to live this way. There is no reason for anyone to have pity for them; in fact it looks like fun! Other than being dirty, I personally would mind it.

  • yea hhaha, i was laughing at the people having pity.

  • everyone has a myspace I know your comment is old but having a myspace or anything technological in this day in age does not denote the person is doing well. Also not sure how being homeless looks fun or is fun.

  • I don't know... I was homeless for near 8 years...23 now. Aside from the marginalisation and the discrimination I'd say it was pretty damn fun.

p.s. tons of the kids in this vid. weren't really homeless.

to those reading this. punk hairdo's and idealistics don't make you a bum.

  • no, just a home bum if anything

  • No shit, they're fucking travelers and they busk and have an eventful life. Culture almost.

  • why you tryna make this look sad these kids are havin the time of their life

  • Comment removed

  • @gardendrove822 because a lot of them really are.

  • @gardendrove822 agreed, i was a street kid for 2 years, and in that 2 years i travelled more, had more fun, and did more drugs than normal people would do in a fucking life time. Sad to say i grew out of it and things turned out for me

  • Just becuase your a street kid dosent make you a fucking junkie.

  • @kaylakaaos You're right. You are either a junkie, a drunk, a lazy piece of shit, a criminal, a hipster/artfag loser, a wannabe bohemian, a crybaby, piece of garbage, mentally ill or a dumb fuck or all of the above if you're a "street kid" aka piece of human filth. These losers in this video are just hipster junkie art school types trying to be "free" lolz. Only hipsters precisely calculate their shitty outfits and "punk" hairstyles.

  • I cry for helpless children and old age.But these kids look like high on drugs, they smoke.they have life and they know what they want.

  • I think the photos are by a guy who goes by "The Polaroid Kidd." the photos definately capture the spirit, comraderie, and hardships of being transient. Love the riding pics.

  • 3:30 is beautiful.

  • did you take these pictures yourself?

    if so, they are incredible

  • I felt like crying after watching this.
