@theaustinblairs (OR ANYONE ELSE THST MAYBE ABLE TO HELP). Hi, I know this video is like 3 years old but I love your dog and I have always wanted a Great Dane. However, I think this mix is better. I'm currently looking for a Great Dane boxer mix, do you have any ideas?
@Shunda003 I (wife) wanted a Great Dane SO bad, b/c I "wanted a dog big enough to lay on". My husband wanted a boxer. Finding Irving was the best find EVER. He's very boxer outside, but great dane inside. Has an incredible temperament, and is wonderful with children. As my husbands reply says below, our niece, when 3, would lay on him or get in his kennel with him and he would just chill. I think being both has also cancelled out the slobber issue, however, he sheds like CRAZY!!
@Shunda003 I adopted a boxer/dane mix, he is brindle and im not sure of the age since he was a stray they picked up, but i think he is about 4-5 years. i have a couple video's of him if ya want to see him on my page. Anyway, he is the absolute perfect dog, he wanders my property off leash and never leaves the property lines, he is the perfect guard dog, he seems pretty easily trained although he's perfect as is, i think he may have a bit more Dane influence then some of the dogs ive seen online.
Irving looks almost identical to my dog, Phrank...when my family first got him we were told he was a boxer/pitbull mix...but at almost a year old he hasnt stopped growing...so now im guessing that Phrank is boxer/Great Dane mix...

What a beautiful dog you have!! We have two blk lab mixed rescue dogs. Well, we have one now, Teegan. Our Maggie May, was diagnosed with lymphoma in June of 09, and passed away in Nov of 09. We did everything we could for her chemo, and everything. Her autopsy came back today, she had brain cancer, systemic cancer and esophagus cancer. Love and hug your baby every chance you get. From all your pictures, you sure can see how much you guys love her!
my dane boxer Doughboy could be Irvings brother.. 15 months and 48 kg - you do the maths! Great natured dog! Mine has his tail (it is illegal to dock tail in Qld Aust) and i can't count the stuff it has broken!
FYI: Irving's tail was like that wen we adopted him from the rescue. We like natural ears but when done correctly we don't have a problem with docking the tail.
I think we have a boxer/dane puppy. She is 9 weeks old, and looks like a miniature version of Irving. I wish you had puppy pix to compare! She is the same color with the black around the face and everything! Irving is beautiful...and now I am hoping our Daisy is the same mix! I guess we'll find out at the vet this week!
We are considering a boxer/dane mix. Has Irving been around kids much? We have a toddler and a purebred boxer and we just want to be sure this mix would be a good addition to our home before we bring him home. Any tips?
Irving is actually really great with kids. My neice is 3 almost 4 now and she thinks he's great. He lets her lay on him and do just about what ever she wants. *Special Note: She has had big dogs around her since birth so their size doesn't startle her, but with a boxer already in the home I think your toddler should be fine. Good luck
hey, i've got a puppy and we've been trying to figure out what he is... he looks a lot like this, he is about 5 mos. old and weighs 30lbs. How big was yours at 5 months and how big is it now?
We got Irving from a dog rescue down near San Antonio. We try to keep him at 75-77lbs, Any more and he looks heavy. We feed him plenty but we exercise him alot. keeps him fit and ensures he stays balanced. we got him in May 07 and he was a year old. He's stayed the same size since we got him. Do you have any photos of your dog?

If shedding was Irving's job, he'd be the CEO.
