I very much enjoy your blog articles on spirituality but my problem I "think" is more musical this time. I've been working on my groove and always expanding. I've hit a "groove" wall, normally I would find a teacher at this point, but finances prevent that option this time. I do not have Alvin Queen to help me like you did[HE IS AWESOME] ;). What is the direction in the meantime...this probably is too deep a question for a post, I've been working on other genres than I normally play mainly.

I learned a very special African Drum technique from my mentor Mike Longo - he learned it from Dizzy Gillespie. I can't teach it online because it's a promise I made to Mike. Meh, there's no funk in Harry's version. Just cause you can whip through a song doesn't make the song better. You can see the funk in Adam's face, body and fingers, and he can keep a solid funk beat with no problem.

Thanks for your comment. I just listened to Harry's version and I think it is excellent, but he's not really referencing the melody or bassline of the original song. His is more of an "adaptation" for guitar. I'm glad you heard it like I did.

You are wrong. That Dutch guitarist (Harry Sacksioni) started his career in 1975 (or actually five years earlier as a session player) and has released 17 albums since then. It was only in 2001 that he recorded "I wish". So it is nonsense that he 'built like half of his career' on that rendition. It's only one of the 100+ songs and arrangements that Harry recorded and (still) performs, using various styles and techniques..
