Dennis has had to deal with a severe stuttering problem which can manifest when he is speaking extemporaneously, without benefit of prior rehearsal.He has overcome it, but for him, speaking requires that he speak slowly and deliberately so that he may be understood. This has actually benefited him enormously, because he has to actually think about what he is saying and carefully consider the words he utters. Would that all politicians were constrained to be so deliberate and thoughtful.
