Much can be said about what Jame Dean's career would have been. But the fact is he and Paul were vying for many of the same roles in the 50's. "Somebody Up There Likes Me" and "East of Eden" being two examples. I love the both as actors but I would give anything to see what James would have done in Cool Hand Luke and Butch Cassidy. God, what could have been.

Very good theory. I, too, think that Jimmy would have wound up doing a lot of Paul Newman's roles, such as "Cool Hand Luke." He probably could have done a few of Steve McQueen's movies as well.

I first saw this on another site and I actually CRIED. I agree with the assertion that, had James Dean lived he would never have allowed his image to be used like this. But then again, had he lived, he probably wouldn't have become the cultural icon he is now. James Dean is an enigma. It's nice to speculate on what might have been, though...

Perhaps one slight mistake? When you see Dean walking he looks too tall. Dean was around 5'7 but the model they've used looks taller.

By the way, the shot at the end is James Dean digitally composited to the car. It's taken from Rebel Without A Cause when Dean gives a deep sigh just before he walks down the stairs to face the mob that just burst his car tyres. Perhaps it's a tad bad taste to add the car crash moment to the advert?

Yeah I think it's Rebel. It looks like the scene where they are at the Griffith Observatory in the back and Buzz has just cut his tire. I think Jimmy gives off a big sigh when he see that. I'm going from recollection though, so I'm not sure.

I could be wrong, but I think that WAS James Dean in the very last shot. It looks like they might of lifted it from one of his movies and put it in the shot. The rest of it was a double that did look a lot like Dean, but I could swear that is Dean in the final shot. Very nice commercial though.
