the ultrAsond tech was not suppose to tell you that your baby is going to be a dwaf...thats the doctors job..

I'm 4'7" it's not considered dwarfism unless your limbs are out of proportion... it's not even considered a disability, even though it technically is because you can't do nearly as much as people of normal height can do.

Awwa, Katie's so cute! The doctor's scared me like that too when I was pregnant. They had four nurses looking at the screen going, "Oh, His femurs are really short!" Yeah, he has short legs, but I'm 5'2" and his dad's 5'6" We just have to get him smaller pants. It doesn't make him any different. He's still awesome and I'm sure Katie is too! :)

@silentobservor ya exactly! Some people are just small! I think a dwarf is someone under 4 "5" cuz 4 "11" is almost as tall as my cousin who is 11. (she is tall)

This made me cry abd cry. We had our first child 6 months ago and all i can say is that my heart goes out to anyone having to deal with this. When you watch something like this it makes you think about what kind of world we live in where more money is spent on wars than child medical research or medical research in general.

Wow. I have SOD and so I'm missing my paturatary gland. I've managed to grow to be 4'11, but I only weight 100 pounds. My bones are also very frail. I understand how the parents are feeling. My parents were confused for a long time too!

4'11 is really short but it doesn't necessarily mean you're a dwarf

medically for grown men 4'11 is considered dwarfism, for women however it's considered just really short. So yeah...you're right.

This Doctor Lady whoever is the worst diagnost I have ever seen. When she stops growing, you first look at the in- and outttake in her body (I think primarily it is food and how you process it makes you grow) and if everything is normal -obviously was not, given the 15 diapers per day with excess eating - THEN you go to the brain. Anyone agrees with me?

@abeautifuldisaster14 I am 4'5.5" and I am not a dwarf. Nor am I a preemie. I have a condition in which my body rejected/rejects most of the growth hormone that my body produces/produced, though it makes enough of the hormone. I have not grown in years, and I am 22. Now I find out that Crohn's Disease patients like me usually have stunted growth. Connection? Hmm.

This show makes me realize how lucky I am despite all my many medical problems. It could be worse, it really could.
