@cjhklio Explain to me how the fuck this aircraft managed to stay in use when we had a far more deployable ground attack aircraft in the Harrier. The Tornado is useless, then they though, oh I know let's turn it into an interceptor, it doesn't have the necessary fuel consumption at high altitude but that doesn't matter... Just means it can't shoot anything down is all...
@cjhklio A) It costs too much. B) It can only use land bases so will almost always if not always require friendly nations to let us use their bases/airspace. C) Look at the link I'll message you... Hardly multi-role without training... D) The air defence of the UK requires at most 50 of them, no more, and that includes overseas territories. It's useless.

However the aircraft are amongst the best in the world for their given roles. 136 Tornado GR4 and 232 Typhoon is agreeable given we are on the security council, forever. The flight of 4 Typhoons on the Falklands, for instance, could not be bested by an aircraft in any latin american nation's arsenal, perhaps not even all of them at once. You have to admit, good deterrence
