J rock, visual kei or however we all say, in general, japanese tend to write music with messages. Today, American music is nothing but the selfishness of creating environments that encourage young people to engage in pre marital sex, drugs, violence (as well as domestic), etc. Japanese write nothing but messages in their songs and that is good. Sometimes, they are uplifting and others that are meherz, but you have to admit that they give it their best which nothing but the best they show indeed.

While I agree whole heartedly, to say that Jrock is better than all is ludicrous.

True that the American and British markets are saturated with alot of cookie cutter artists, Japan suffers the same fate. A good portion of Jrock or Visual Kei groups now follow the "Look like a woman with an over dramatic deep voice" sceme. While it was good for some artists, it is quite stale. I will admit there are alot more original Japanese artist than there are American though.

I'm a metal head who switched to japanese metal and visual kei, cus I found that their wore not more good metal bands in the U.S , these guys have made their on slant on metal, but I really like it, visual kei doesn't sound like the metal I'm used to but they have made it bather, its hard to like it at first but metalheads in america and all over the world should give this music a chance, it really grows on you

I agree with you, American Metal is just random bullshit now. All of you hear now is just the screams from crappy screamo bands, those random fast drummings, no guitar solos, and you can't even hear the bass anymore.

ya it sucks. and also miyavi has been a very good example of music. he does pretty much every genre and he sings and playes guitar beautifly, he has come a long way. and i like hearing and feeling the bass in songs XD... take dragonforce for example... mostly guitar solo's... very fast, but its mostly a bunch of random crap stuffed together. not planned beautiful music. either way i still prefure japanese music XD
