I have the utmost respect for anyone who's ever completed a smolov. I've never tried it myself, and it looks like a lifting cycle that the devil himself wouldn't want to try.
@krakistophales I also have the respect for everyone doing Smolov. I always follow with interest when someone starts it, even for the toughest guys it is not a guaranteed success. Weights that looks impossible at the beginning becomes possible once you are into the program. Mostly I've done a lot of smolov base meso cycles, the complete program for back squats I've completed twice. It is bloody hard, that's for sure. Hardest thing I've done..
Much respect that you Squat that much with that intensity and with no gear at all. Are those by the way weightlifting shoes? And how comfortable are they when Squatting? I am planning on buying those as I am currently Squatting with no shoes but I want something to stand on during competition etc. =P
Either I buy those or some Converse shoes, what do you recommend?
God damn it! Absolutely, a fuckin' great video.I have this vid in one of my playlists and i am watching it when i feel down.. 07:18 is absolutely sick!!!lol Per you are a crazy man..for sure! Keep it strong mate...
Great video! nice work my friend! All the best for your testing, would love to hear if you have suceeded! By the way why are you using such an loose grip to hold this amounts of weight?
It's man-kind against IRON - I am with you my brother. Looks like 3rd rep on set 10 was better then 3rd rep on sets 7,8, or 9. I get the same feeling on the last set sometimes, and when I do I even do one extra rep sometimes to prove that I own the weight. How long did this workout take? How long was the average break? Looks like your breaks are long enough to recover, which is great.
With that attitude, you are going to become a very strong squatter! :) I like your videos. You own the weights very often. :) I can't answer any of your questions because I don't time it. I just do it. But it takes quite some time, and the breaks are pretty long. My only goal is to complete the workout, so I rest till I feel ready to take on the next set. The last set is often a good set, because then there is no limits, then I just push with all I have, because there is no more to do after.
I like the pause at the bottom of your squat. It's let cheating. Kind of how on pull ups some people add a lil swing at the bottom to give them momentim for the next rep and so on. Without a bounce or a border line bounce at the bottonm of your squat your basicly driving up from a dead stop...which is good.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, this style of squatting is harder than the normal style. I use it in training cycles from time to time. I don't usually do this style for maximum attempts. With this style I lift approx 10% less weight.
It's awesome that you inspire others like me, and it's nice to hear our comments help you. I liked this video a lot and the pauses inbetween with you talking were a good touch to give an idea of how long it was.
"...for the 4th time since Autumn last year! GAH!" : )
Yes, I train alone. So internet comments are a good source of motivation. When I am tired, then I think of that I want to make another good video. I don't want to let you all down. I put pressure on myself so to speak. If I fail everybody would know. Hehe... It is important to find methods that work for motivation! :)
hm,.. hva skjer med mine svar. sverger jeg har svart to ganger... men okke som: Nei, trener også en del annet, blant annet 4x uke i benk. Forøvrig er det en del info i min logg på kraftsport siden.
Strong brother, I watched the video when I came home last night now Im watching it again, your a true inspiration to all your subscribers and long long may it continue, good luck with the 260KG you will destroy and conqure I can see you putting 270 up now. ExcelleT Job
Thanks for watching my friend. I just have to do one step at a time, and never take anything for granted. Always do my best, and never lose sight of my dream. I hope you too never lose sight of your dreams. Work hard! Thanks again!
Well, it is kind of a lifestyle. I was much more fanatic when I started training, and I had the same drive and effort at that time. But I was very weak, so nobody noticed. Now I've trained for almost 10 years, and I am stronger, so of course it is fun to have some recognition. But remember this is a hobby, and nothing that I can make a living from. :) But we only live once, so it is fun to see how strong I can become. I put down the hard work required, and then we will see in the end! :)
when you can do raw pause squats with a high bar placement for 10 sets 3 reps you will probably feel like a hulking monster. Mindboggling kraftsport mindBOGGLING!
I dont remember the last time I watched a 9 min video that did not include a nekkid chick. You are going to CRUSH 260 next week. Work on your dance moves and don't tell that story about me and the 55kilo plates again!!!
Btw, I will get the copy of my meet later this week so you can see just how close I am getting to you. Get job, brother. But, I am still coming!!! :-D
This is the prep phase for smolov correct? We managed to finish prep week on the same day. Looking forward to phase two of Sheiko as I am sure you are looking forward to Smolov phase two. Great work my friend.
smolov is: introductory microcycle, base meso cycle, switching period, intense meso cycle. I've just completed the base meso cycle. google smolov to find the entire layout. thanks!
Hello! Wonderful to hear. Actually I think I will have a trip to the USA later this year. I have never been there my entire life. :) Many good athletes and lifters from the USA! Thanks a lot, have a nice day!

There has been no success. The loose grip is a personal preference for some of my training cycles.
