Cops need better training and they need to qualify on the range more than once a year. Most agencies only require officers to shoot once a year and go threw a judgmental course once a year too.

The good samaritan law- if the prevailing thought of the people on the scene is that there would be more harm in waiting then in removing victim then it is entirely proper to do so. Police officers do not get the same training EMT's do the same as EMT's do not get police training.

First thing they tell you is to not move the person injured, due to the fact that it could cause more injury. If the idiots knew anything, they'd take the whole child seat out to keep the spine and neck from moving or better yet, have paramedics standing by, in case someone gets hurt. I thought police were professionals.

The mechanism of injury was a gunshot, not a physical movement, the kid was bleeding heavily, it's a load and go situation, and they were smart enough to do that. I wouldn't spend time on cspine in that situation.

A few potshots at the driver side front where the suspect was OK, but to shoot 42 rounds into a car they know holds at least one hostage is beyond overkill. Cops are taught to shoot at actual suspects, not blindly into autos in an attempt to stop it like we see so much of.
