this is wrong. there are many "glitches" as you say, necessary to play all three games competitively. there aren't glitches though, is the thing. the developers knew about most of these "glitches" prerelease, and left them in. for example, z-canceling, a technique in ss64, is the exact same function as l-canceling in melee, and the same function as auto-canceling in brawl. there are such "tricks" in every smash game, and ss64 is no different.

But the idea stands that the effective implementation of any and all techniques is the way to victory over everyone. the pursuit of a mastery over all the techniques / effective and appropriate implementation of the techs is what breeds the greatest competition. the techs give advantages at lower levels of play, but when everyone knows the techs (ie how to best control your character) thats when it becomes all about smart play/mindgames.

People use them all the time...If you've never played in a tournament, then you have no idea how badly you'd be wrecked by someone of Isai's skill level. To give you an example, I seriously used to think just like you. I watched a few videos of Wes (Melee samus player). Anyway, I thought he was pretty good, but that I was better.
