No, he doesn't. The reason the player's punches were doing little damage is because he kept punching to the side opposite the enemy's head, which barely takes off any damage on Tyson either.

i.e., if Tyson punches and his head ends up on the right, throwing a left jab will barely do anything.

Please, Master Phred, I need your help! I want to play this so badly, and I've downloaded everything needed (as listed on your website), but I can't work out how to start it up! If you know ASM (assembly), you can change the programming of just about anything. Unfortunately, I have no clue how to do any assembly on anything. Learning ASM can take forever so I don't know if I will be able to change the programming of the game. :(
