I would do this if I had some. The muskie ate them all. As far as Canada is concerned, this is how the muskie got into our river in the first place. If you would have kept them there we wouldn't be eating them. We started this derby so to get rid of them out of our rivers that use to have beautiful salmon and trout.
I encourage you to do the research on how they got into the St John river in the first place. Most of the biggest muskie in the derby come form Canada 's Glacier Lake.
Catch and release Muskie! You have to be kidding me. Muskie is great eating and many of the people in this area love it. It does not go to waste. many are released, if they are not wanted. We do this quite often. However, the population of Muskie in the St John river, is far from few. It has been quite a few years since anyone has caught their limit of trout, or salmon, because of the Muskie population. Sorry Fisher, we just disagree a bit.
Come on catch and release. This is even more important with Muskie. I can see you keeping a couple walleye but keeping Muskie thats just not right. Muskie are not very numerous in population so please catch and release Muskie.
I agree with catch and release, these fish are killing our trout and salmon. If everyone stopped keeping their catch, we wouldn't have any fish to eat. I guess we can let all the big ships enjoy the catching, and we pay the big price at the markets, when we want to eat fish. Are you one of these type of people who don't want to kill anything, and live on plant life? Well, the plants are also alive. Tks 4 ur comment.
By the way, we do eat the muskies, and they are delicious. Waste none.

that was just a joke for a song I wrote with my soul mate who died last month from cancer. She did it for me. A little bit of humor

Why kill so many amazing fish for some Muskie festival. Catch and release is where it's at. I love good fishing but conservation is the way to go.
