@Marnbaby - Claybord (that's the correct spelling, I spelled it wrong in the video and it's a brand name) is a board panel with a white textured surface. To confuse things even more, now the textured version of the Claybord is called Aquabord. Made by Ampersand, it is a little heavy, but it doesn't buckle and it can be used for a variety of media. It can also be scratched which is why I like to use it.
Google "Ampersand Aquabord" to find out more about it.
@AnnRan thank you very much for the information, i will google it for sure and look for it at Michaels and my local art store, I would imagine Opus would carry it. sounds very interesting oh can you cut it to size or do you need a special knife? tool?
@Marnbaby - It can be cut to size, but I've never tried it. You would have an edge that isn't as smooth as the others - not a big deal if you frame with a mat. They do have a good selection of sizes though - square and rectangular.
Lots of online stores carry it - Cheap Joe's, Dick Blick, Jerry's Artarama, and others.
what is claybord? i have not heard of it before? is it mostly for watercolor? and it sounds heavy is it?
