@wkangster If it was me, I would go for the serrated blade. A serrated blade will give an extra cutting surface with additional bite and can provide enhanced cutting power when needed.
come one correct me please, the ultima 5 and the ultima seven are called that way because of the lenght of the blade or because of the year (2005 and 2007) they where created?
@belzach The Ultima 5 & 7 were designations of now discontinued knives. The 5 had a 4.95" blade and the 7 had a 6.75" blade. The Ultima is now available in just a 4.95 " blade.
You have a great speaking voice, you may want to go into radio or voice overs! However you say Ahhh and uhhh to much in your reviews. Good review though a T^
Nice review, I have this knife and hate the sheath. Knife hangs up on the strap and is akward to pull. I modified it to one locking strap and cut the extra pouch off.
I have this knife also and I wanted to wear in horizontaly. and how it did that wa. I took the plastic insert out the the sheath. I bought some moly 3in. straps and velcroed the straps around the hard plastic insert. It works pretty good.
The sheath is designed for survival not quick draw obviously the guys who designed the sheath were OCD about it staying put and that's a good thing. If look at the design it isn't totally made for knife on knife action...I see it as a survival/assassin type of blade, if it were designed for fighting it would have a blade guard, places to trap a blade etc... this blade rules hands down i just got one and i gotta say CRKT always puts out the goods.
this video made me pull mine out from the top of my closet. the knife is great but the sheath isnt as good as some people say, "namehisname" is right as it does not have a fast draw, mine has a tendency to catch the sewing of the material that holds the straps around the handle. and when Sheathing the knife sometimes it gets stuck if you dont pay attention to the way it is inserted, basically i wouldent use it for anything except a camp knife
I own the same one with the veff serrations, excellent knife i personally think. If it came with a zytel sheath or kydex instead it would be exactly like its name says... the ultimate knife!
I bought this knife and did not like it 1 bit. The sheath is poorly designed and did not focus on the most major point : Fast draw. On the sheath, under the leg wrap every time you pull the knife out, it will get stuck on the velcro, really annoying.
It´s really a Survival/Outdoor Blade, thay even state it them self, not all Tantos are Tactical blades mate ;)

We had designed a hard case sheath for fast ergonomic draw. It never saw production, i dont know why..The real focus was on the handle..
