I think its the audio. In person she sounds perfect. I know her personally, and this is true. I wondered why she sounded so shaky on this show.She was up at my grandparents this weekend and we all sat around and sang.Her voice WAS flawless.And I am not just saying this cause she is related to me.She sounds 100% better in person.Thats odd, it's usually the other way around.
She is so talented, and it really sucks because you can tell that the idol producers were trying to get rid of her. I mean, first off she was never show until the top 24, AND when she finally was shown, she was first in the line up, which is the kiss of death.
Anyways, you are lucky to know such a beautiful person!!! you should tell her to put her singing on youtube!

Great job Stephanie! I disagree with Randy and agree with Paula and --even-- Simon! I didn't like the sudden staccato 'syncopated' horns blaring in there, tho, which made you sound like you were a tiny bit off beat at those instances. I heard Chaka too and you did a great job. Randy usually criticizes either way: "you copied someone too much" or "you didn't match someone well enough". As "What the Buck" says, if you *can* copy the best -- and you *can* -- why not copy the best!
