  • the thing is OHM was genius in it's own way, but not in a way the chili peppers were. it's not approached in a way that appeals most people who really dug BSSM

  • @popomczowzow they were different people when they wrote bssm. they were in a darker state when they wrote ohm. but i think that ohm appeals more to people who dug bssm, than californication, or their later albums do. its still, hard, fast, and funky, which their later albums lack.

  • of course !! everyone says that but i dont think so . for me was a great cd , and nothing else matters.- was a few problems in the band but . who the fuk dont have any problem ??? i have the original cd in home and for me its a pleasure. long live peppers!!!!!

  • i dont really like how they smash up the drums at the end. I mean its a cool thing to do but it kinda seems like theyr copying nirvana, seeing as this is the only time ive seen them do it, and its the grunge era.

  • One Hot Minute is an awesome album!!! i hate all the negative reviews it had

  • Navarroo is underrated

  • so much fucking ENERGY!!! i think OHM is very underrated!

  • One Hot Minute was a mixed bag. When it worked, it was amazing. When it didn't work, it felt awkward and unfocused.

  • How can you not like this? Anthony Kiedis puts just as much effort in (maybe even more) as Axl Rose, and this band has escalated to new heights in recent times. They've proven to be more "solid" than nearly anyone else, and not to mention that with Flea and Anthony they are the BOMB DIGGITY.

  • Okay. One Hot Minute= VERY underrated. It IS a masterpiece.

  • I just love to see dave jumping around like this.

He was not the right man for the peppers. But he is a great guitarist!

  • I thought OHM was a good album. It may have been a different turn but it was still good. It would have been great to see Dave do another album with them. I don't know why there are so many Dave haters. Each guitarist brings there own unique style to the table and I think the last time the chili peppers ever rocked it's hardest was with Dave.

  • @TCIclassProject86

i met Dave, i was an extra on tv show & he didn't have to make eye contact, or flash me the r n r sign, but he did, & seemed very nice. and sexier in person! also shorter.

  • @TCIclassProject86 Dave is really nice & sexier in person!

i was an extra at a tv show & he didn't have to make eye contact or flash me the R n R sign.

  • i dont understand y some people hate ohm? its an awesome album mostly made by flea even for some of the lyrics like transcending. i say anyone who hates ohm knows nothing about rhcp's music, then claims to say they like jf and hs. rhcp is not just a guitar.

  • dave is truly a great influence he does so many cool things sound and stlye wise , pyschadleicly

  • correction i prefer john OR slovak

  • ive listend to every song of the chili peppers except for the ones on one hot minute i dun like navarro.....i prefer john for slovak

  • you shoud listen to ohm it's probably one of their best.

  • Definitely one of their best.

  • Without even listening to them? RETARD

  • 2:36 dave and flea start playing manic depression

  • Navarro have funky style!...fuck yeah!

for me Freaky Styley is an awesome funk rock record....but One hot minute includes the spiritual power coming from that psycodelic guitar...nice recording...but now they have a really stablished setlist...i think

  • Canzone Straordinaria

  • scratch eras

how bout being in the chillis after being their biggest fan?

    lucky bastard john frusciante

  • wow. dave navarro playing an old chili peppers song. he didnt butcher it nearly as much as i thought he would. it was actually pretty damn good, props to dave

  • holy shit

i want to be 21 living in america during the one hot minute era

    :(

  • that is wikid very jane's chip away/R.H.C.P hybrid jam was wikid

  • this solo is crazy xDD

  • I always thought Navarro sounded ok with them. Maybe because that's I'm a huge Jane's Addiction fan.

  • And people say they were bad with Navarro? Are you kidding me? This is full of life and originality! Well, it's not the normal Freaky Styley-type, but it's awesome!

  • Jesus, I just released all my bodily fluids

  • Dave navarro tal vez no sera el guitarrista para los RHCP, pero Dave..... is AMAZING.

solo el puede tocar de esa forma.

    Ellos eran los rhcp.

  • amazing little jam there

  • 3:12 best jam i've ever seen...

  • We are CHILI PEPPERS!!!!

  • Dave actaully did a pretty good job. It was his own style but it was cool!

  • this is the most amazing video ever

  • WOO!

LOVE THIS SONG like till i die!

And, wow at Anthony at the beginning.!!

    (L) <33

  • An excellent video of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Awesome to hear Dave Navarro playing a song like Nevermind!

I have heard all of the Chili Peppers albums, and I love RHCP. But you have to hand it to Dave for his hand in their best album (as a whole), One Hot Minute!

This is coming from someone who also likes Jane's Addiction, so some of you might feel differently.

Anyway, this is probably one of the best video's I've seen of the peppers.

  • Dave did a good job, I agree. However, I still think John Frusciante is a better guitarist overall, and Dave Navarro's style changed the overall sound too much.

Personally, my fave album by the Peppers is BSSM, but OHM is still a very good album.

  • BSSM has incredible guitar work by Frusciante. Outside of that album, along with Mothers Milk, his solo albums demonstrate more of his talents.

  • OHM is my least faovrite to be honest and BSSM is my favorite. NAvarro changed the band too much. OHM sounds too dark.

  • BSSM is definitely second, and i can't stand much of their newer work because i don't really like the cookie-cutter alt-rock stuff (except Californication). But as a child of the funk, Freaky Styley is my favorite. George Clinton is un-fucking-beatable as a producer.

  • Freaky Styley is a great album. George Clinton did a fantastic job. Guitarist Hillel was probably at his best with Freaky Style. Love the guitar, drums, and raw funk. In my opinion Californication was the chili peppers last "good" album. And by "good," not great. Most of their newer stuff I don't like. But they still can put out some good songs.

  • but like

am i the only person who thinks one hot minute beatifully fused funk with the rock???

    is it not a masterpiece?????

why cant people enjoy one hot minute...

i wish they made another 50 songs with dave

  • Masterpiece is something I can easily agree with.

It's weird because it seems like the Chili Peppers try to Deny their first album (self-titled) and One Hot Minute... When they were a couple of their best.

The important thing about One Hot Minute, is that it was really unique, and the critics loved it! I bought the album when it came out, but I was only in middle school. It's a great album, and it grows on you.

  • Dude One Hot Minute was amazing and

I agree with you how its unique. But the crititcs hated it, I love it, that albums awesome but the crritics hated it.

The two albums you mentioned were the only two Chilis albums that the critics hated. They dont play One Hot Minute anymore becuase John didnt want to play any of Navaros stuff, and why they dont play the first one,I dont know. Maybe its becuase it didnt get much succses like their other albums.

  • No man, I take it the story is that One Hot Minute was accepted well by critics, but not so much by the fans. I actually remember when the album was brand new, the first time I heard about the record was through a very good review... It probably was in Rolling Stone magazine.

Anyway, One Hot Minute did very well, it just didn't sell as many copies as Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

  • other way around

  • i agree wit u

  • I completely agree with you

  • yes! It's a masterpiece having a unique sound, fusing rock and funk perfectly.

  • @dontbro I completely agree with you, One Hot Minute had the perfect amount of everything; it's beautiful.

I loved when they had Dave, especially when they played the old stuff with him. It sounded great.

And the energy here... oh baby

  • @dontbro

people dont like one hot minute cuz it was with navarro and not with frusciante.

actually flea wrote most of the album.

he wrote transcending (the music and the lyrics)

and he wrote my friends main riff on guitar.

and by the way, flea said that almost all rhcp songs have bass basics (flea writes a bass line and everybody else just adds music on it)

so one hot minute would be almost the same music if there was frusciante.

    just another style.

    and people would love it.

  • @k0stil yeah, but you've failed to mention the huge role frusciante plays in songwriting. he wrote almost all of the music for BSSM

it would have been a totally differrent album. maybe parts of some of the songs would have been on there still, but they would have been approached and expanded upon in a completely different way

  • @popomczowzow

    i know.

  • @dontbro One hot minute, It is a masterpiece and i stand by you saying you wish they made more music with dave as do I.

  • That was pretty cool, especially that little Chip Away bit Flea and Navarro did at the end.

  • that wasn't dave who threw anything, that was chad smith

  • oh yeah so it was! i was tired when i wrote that.. i wonder why he did that? I haven't seen him do it before, he always seems like a really nice guy

  • Maybe because you're a fucking idiot?

  • LOL EXACTLY.

  • i want to that concert in video...

  • GREAAAAAAAT :D

  • dave does awesome in this song!

  • that was chip away from jane's!!

  • when dave played drums that was so rad!

  • awesome...this is what chili peppers are!!

  • couldnt agree more

  • this is the garden??

  • I maybe am stupid but have Dave left Red Hot Chili Peppers?

  • yes he did...

    5) dave did a good job on the drums, lol

  • RIP HILLEL SLOVAK

  • His name wes Hillel Slovak. He was an original member of the band. He recorded the guitar in the second and third Red Hot Chili Peppers' albums (Freaky Stiley - 1985 and The Uplift Mofo Party Plan - 1987).

  • aguante navarro, la rompía. yo se q no tenia mucho q ver con los peppers pero ese disco es DE MA SIA DO

  • Chad did that because he's awesome.

  • lol at the drummer why did he do that?

  • oh my lord. this great pearl masters with the beautifull sabian aa and aax cymbal. that's a shame.

  • Woooooooow!

  • i didnt know dave could play this ....i thought it muight have been hard for him considering his style lol

  • BEST. CHILI. PEPPER. SONG. EVER!!

  • what are we suppose to see at the end? Dave getting crazy w/ Flea?

  • no, the huge pink bunny rabbit that rape's dave...

  • love u Flea!!!

  • This is GREAT!!!!

  • I'm just saying it FLEA. The best there is.

  • thanks for posting, real treat to see such a rare performance! Please keep posting more.
