its to do with faster muscle co-ordination and practice. it takes less force to power clean a weight than a deadlift in any case but because the movement is generally so much quicker the muscles cant come to tension isometrically like they can in a squat, so without practice it can be very difficult to power clean anything near your deadlift.

Well You should always "pull" the bar to max extension. As for where you catch it, assuming your squats are up to it ideally I would say about parallell depth (where you actually catch the bar) is ideal.
ohh i just sent u a message about this type of clean...hahaha but ya semi-power clean is what i was referring to u in the PM i sent, could u catch the weigth any lower than this or in a wider stance????? u def could get 150kg very soon.
Yea I know :).... Yea I like to call a power clean with very little knee bend, what i call a true power clean. 150 kg is a bit heavy for any kind of clean for me tbh lol

140kg power clean would be awesome. The russian texts say 88-90% of your best clean should be power cleaned.
