  • At address, Steve’s right foot is not perfectly square to the target line. This makes it harder to keep your weight on the inside of the right foot as the backswing proceeds. If your weight transfers to the outside of your right foot, it is harder to stay balanced at the top of your backswing. This makes it more difficult to smoothly start your downswing move with the legs and quickly start transferring your body weight back to the left side to generate maximum power at impact.--GS.

  • @MrLon2011 He gets a top ten almost every week though. Very reliable and consistent.

  • It I beleive is what is termed a HITTING action, yes very simple and easy to learn.

  • I love this swing.....low maintenance....not a lot of moving parts.....simple...effective...and, fundamentally sound.

The kind of swing that you can teach to your kids.

  • @thevmanvj I agree. Unless they want to hit it really far.

  • True....but anyone who knows and follows the game, also knows that hitting the ball great distances can worse than useless if you don't know where it's going.

Example....Alvaro Quiros...when he hits it, there's nothing left of that ball but a VAPOR TRAIL, but he's also hitting a majority of his 2nd shots from the rough, which makes it really tough to get the ball into a consistently short proximity to the hole. Like the old saying goes..."It's not how....it's HOW MANY"....Cheers!

  • Fuck you mrlon2011 if you know anything about golf you would know that this guy is something special an deserves three praise he is now getting from the public

  • I wish I could swing that simple and hit it that far. I met Steve in 98 when he was a youngster. His ability to read putts is probably top 5 in the world. And he is probably one of the nicest guys you could meet in tour. Glad he won the Memorial this year, go get em Steve!

  • Quit giving steve's swing a thumb down, his swing is simple and it wins! Sergio Garcia is an example of a dude with a fancy swing that just doesnt win.

  • Look at his club and shoulders, so synchronized. A large portion of his weight is behind the clubhead at impact.

  • By my definition Stricker does indeed have the best swing in the world... Incredibly simple and efficient, yet very powerful and accurate! Yes, Tiger is obviously more talented, but it's no fluke that Strick is #2 in the world at age 43!

  • I give this so much credit for coming out of the abyss from 5 years ago to being a World top 10 player. His story is not reported enough- tremendous perseverance on his part

  • i totally agree, i use to use too much wrist cock myself and tried to model my swing as much as possible after strickers, and improved my g i r from 62% to 67%. love this swing.

  • @111voodoo you actually keep track of your greens in regulation?

what is your name: Phil Mickelmouse ? =P

  • Tiger used to swing similiar to this...

This is when he always BLEW AWAY the field.. approx years.. 1997 - 2002.. today his swing is too long and wristy ....

  • Agreed despite the thumbs down. People are giving the thumbs down because they like the look of a swing that gets to parallel. Wake up people. Tiger played better in 2000 with his "Steve Stricker Swing" I guess you could say.

  • i agree on he was much better and even more exciting during 1997-2002 but it wasnt as controlled as his swing is today.... u guys got it opposite tiger's swing was wild yet very powerful during his early career. thats why no one could catch up with him when he was on because he hit it so dam far and straight. but now he turned to a more controlled swing and now he wins almost everything

  • @zeldaman1636 He was not better then. He's won more tournaments and been in contention more after his comeback. His wedge game is vastly improved.

  • Good point skinsfan. Although he doesn't have as tight of an angle as say, Sergio, he still maintains the angle that he does have until a late point and still puts a strong impulse on the ball. He is also flat thru the impact zone and gets a good trajectory. The ball floats like a frisbee for him and then rolls.

  • Saw strick and tiger at the BMW... Can't believe how far stricker hits it with minimal effort, defies physics

  • best swing in the world!

  • his swing is so simple yet effective. it doesn't even look like he has any wrist cock.

  • Comment removed

  • but he does it is just late to occur. like an pga tour pro he keeps his lag late into impact
