You are a star for posting this vid mate, Coz i have JT's Greatest Hits tab book but it has'nt got this track on it and i love it so much (Along with Blossom), i've been seaching for a book with its tab structure ect with no success, But not anymore.! :D
So.. Thank you! P.s - (Add me for music shares ect if you want).
@f1ax Glad you liked it. An old guitar teacher of mine arranged it and it's been a favorite of mine to play ever since he taught it to me. Thanks for your comments.
Very beautiful job on the Taylor style!! I did Acrylic nails and my ( i ) nail no longer grows past the tip of my finger. My nails are paper thin and crack very easily.
I have been starting to play with ' alaskas " and you can shape and file them to the exact length and shape you need. Buy a few sets and experiment. I used to play nationals but they are way to bright sounding for my style.
@kamikrazi123 I paid about that. I use Alaska picks because I like playing with my nails, but I don't like taking care of my nails nor the look of long nails. Think of it as fake nails.
@paulbraz2 nice job. I didn't like growing and taking care of my nails, glueing on fake ones (they kept breaking off) and the alaskas felt I had to hold my fingers a little bit farther away from the guitar. I went to a nail place and had them apply "Liqid Nails". They brushed on this acrylic that quickly hardened. They look like fake nails but don't break off and you can keep them long or just extending out past the finger tip.Mine seem to last about a month for $10. still need thumb pick
@Rainman270 I actually shape my picks so that they are the perfect length for my playing. I've heard that using fake nails will rot your real nails and make them very weak. A lot of the pros do the fake nails thing.
@paulbraz2 Well I don't know about rotting the nails, but they do tend to get a little soft,I think that means they get a little hydrated from not being exposed to air. My nails don't seem to have suffered much more than that and the strings sound a lot clearer with the liquid acryllic. To each his own.
I don't suppose you have tabs that you used? I purchased the 'official' James Taylor book, which includes this song, but it's rather disappointing, to be honest. Yours sounds much nicer...
If you played by ear, I totally understand, I usually do the same, but have a limited deadline to learn this song (for a play (Shakespeare, oddly enough)), so I'm trying to find good sheet music for it :P
@TheUKninja Sorry no tabs. I learned this from a friend about 30 years ago. It was one of my intros into finger picking. You can find very authentic tabs on the net for You Can Close Your Eyes by just searching with Google. I like to get GuitarPro tabs so I can hear what the song sounds like on my computer before I invest time in learning the song.
top work -- lovely stuff

How much did your alaska finger picks cost? I'm not sure if forking $6 for 3 picks is worth the investment unless they really help with my playing :(

Thanks very much. I'm playing a Froggy Bottom H-12. It's a 12 fret guitar which makes it very easy to play. I absolutely love it.
