I have a warmouth body with a mexican neck tele. I just threw in a seymour duncan jerry donahue bridge pick up and a dimarzio twang king for the neck and I can't get the damn thing from buzzing! Did you shield yours cause I noticed like no buzz from yours. Any help would GREATLY be appreciated!!!
They are really not that expensive -- I just built one -- and it cost less than $1400 -- which is not bad at all, since it plays better than my American Fender
@guitarmaniac43 my warmoth tele with nice parts like lollar52s and andy rothstein harness.all gold tone hardware assembled and a pro set up from randy parsons 1950$ usd .... fender american standard no options 2199 before taxes

That is NOT a warmoth neck. The trussrod hole on any warmoth neck in on the side of the neck by the body. We can see your trussrod opening right there at the base of the head. Not a warmoth my friend, not a warmoth.
BB King, isn't it? "How Blue Can You Get?" There's a version on "Blues Brothers 2000" which is worth buying the DVD for, because it includes every then-living blues legend you can think of: King, Clapton, Diddley, Dr. John, etc.
very cool, thanks for sharing the info, I love your stuff. It sounds great. I'm trying to decide between this and a JCM 800. I know they're not very similar, but I can only afford one.
Really dig your videos. Find it very helpful to grab so cool licks- any chance you'd consider pulling in closer with your camera so we can really see those licks?
I like them both. I like the clarity of the telecaster and how it sounds great for blues with a stinging bridge pickup but I find for really singing lead solo's it needs quite a bit of boosting into the BB (none in this video though). The Les Paul however will sing and sustain just with the amp cranked with no boost really needed. Its much better for straight up rock and blues rock.
You also have to really work the tele whereas the les paul almost plays itself. I like that added effort. This could also be from the fact I strung the tele with 10-52's and the LP has 9-42, those 9-42's almost seem like toys after getting used to the 10-52's. I really need to get a tech to do a fret level and good setup on the paul. I find it hard to get the neck straight on that 60's neck because its so thin. Even with 9-42's
The Les Paul will always seem like it plays easier, even if you have both the Tele and the Paul strung with the same gauge strings.
That's because the scale of almost all Fenders is 25.5", and the scale of most all Gibsons is 24.75". That shorter length makes the string tension noticeably less on a Gibson, compared to a Fender.
So if you have the Paul strung with 9's, then it's 2 degrees less tension on the strings compared with 10's on a Tele. No wonder the Paul feels like butter.
from what i hear sustain is not the problem in this case . . . not at all . . .

that's a bit expensive for some, i guess. some people may prefer to spend that kind of cash on a ready made guitar that plays just as well.
usually, guys like me who don't know how to build stuff. :)

Actually, my good friend.
The vintage modern necks have a trussrod hole in the headstock.

In that case, I appologize. And that is a great sounding guitar and some very decent playing.
Thanks for the info

I went with the JTM 45 for now. Maybe a JCM 800 someday. They're just too loud, especially in a live situation.
by the way, your JTM 45 sounsd great martys13, as does your playing.

hey man, great playing and tone. I was wondering what pickups you're using (Im making a warmoth tele as well) thanks bro.
3281SC 4 years ago
I have a Lindy Fralin stock pickup in the neck with 2% overwind and a Lindy Fralin Blues Special in the bridge that is 5% overwind.
