I'm looking forward to learning more about Mark Sanford in the next few years. Let's hope that when/if the national spotlight shines harsher on him he is able to stick with the principles that have gotten him this far.
There never will be change. This nation is on cruise control to the New World order. The only thing that could bring about change is a third world war.
What nation? It's a huge international empire composed of many conquered nations. The problem is all this centralization and central control. For instance, SC doesn't need Washington, DC's mandates, it's worthless paper currency or its continuous foreign wars. I say not only end the Fed, but the Federal Government. Period.
You don't run a 77 year old man as VP... VP should be the next in line - RP should definately be Sec of State, Sec of Commerce, or something, however...
How about Mark Sanford/Walter Jones 12? Jones is a good young Ron Paul Republican congressmen, he and Sanford can be the young energetic faces of the Paleoconservative/paleolibertarian movement.
Are you serious? You want one of the dumbest people to ever run for office as the VP? I would be a happier person if I never heard her name ever again. Mark Sanford/Ron Paul 2012. Or Mark Sanford/ Gary Johnson 2012. Or Mark Sanford/Bruce Fein 2012. Or flip any of them around. But Sarah Palin should not be allowed within 2000 miles of the next Republican Presidential ticket, unless of course you want to lose another election.
on another point, keep in mind that Palin is a great politician but poor campaigner. she was a CONSERVATIVE trying to justify McCain's destructive actions and spin him off as conservative. of course she looked like a friggin idiot, a friggin moron, stuttering and stammering on all those news interviews. it was a terrible & naive decision she made to run with a socialist fascist liberal like McCain thinking she could have had a positive influence on things.
she might be a conservative, but she is still a moron. not that being a know-nothing precludes u from being president i.e. george bush. But you would have to have the ability to spin your stupidiity into some positive for the masses to eat up. And she does not have that kind of spinmeister ability.
um. no. Bush hid his destructive actions behind what he wanted you to believe is stupidity. He fed you something that was super easy to hate so as to distract you from things you would have hated far more. He couldn't have accomplished his goal of gigantic government growth/mutation if everybody didn't buy his stupid act hook-line-and-sinker. He took YOU for the fool. Wake up already.
The more we talked about his stupidity the more sidetracked we got ourselves from the REAL problems. Way to go
i judged her by her record, by her past actions, and not her lipservice to Mc-Frikkin-Cain. but you have a great point about foreign policy. i tip my hat to you. Thanks
We, the American people, do not want change. If we did, we would have voted that way. What we want is comfort. We know we need change but are afraid of the discomfort that comes in creating it, therefore we just want TALK about change, but not actual change, in order to make us feel more comfortable.
(I wonder if we consider broken economics comfortable. Maybe. Or maybe we want Socialism but aren't willing to say the 'S-word' out loud.)
Very true. It is easier to replace individualism with comfort and big GOV. I used to be guilty of it from time to time. You get into the habit of saying "Gov should do this or that" but they shouldn't do anything at all as far as I am concerned. I think socialism is great as long as it is between voluntary individuals willing to make sacrifices of that kind and fond of living however fruitfully or stagnantly it becomes.
I think what we vote for is largely due to the choices that we are allowed to vote for. This system is going to collapse and then we can start over. The main problem that I see is that we won't learn from these mistakes and make them again. We have been moving incrementally toward Socialism for decades. The collapse won't take as long, however. Then it will be time to use the other "S-word" so save ourselves.
You're half right. You're right that Americans don't want change, but wrong that they want comfort. Americans actually want control. Change is considered going from being oppressed to being the oppressors.
You truely describe the failures and falsities of the problems with letting the Government fix problems, and how dumb we are waiting for the right change.
Geeeeessshhh!!!! Bad timing on that one.

This economy has been brought to you by...
ORWELL'S DOUBLESPEAK GUM. Yes, everyone acquires a love for Orwell's Doublespeak Gum; the filthy disgusting flavor that lasts and lasts...
as long as you don't read what's in the ingredients.
And now, back to our wasteful socialist program.
