sometimes commercials get banned only because of a particular thing, i think this got banned because of the lady screaming and the brief shot of the umbilical cord.
its funny that so many people curse others for complaining.. what is really being said here is pretty bad... but people dumbed down think its just entertrainment.. while all the while not even knowing what the word itself means.
Disturbing!? This advert was well done and looks pretty cool, expressing the fact against the pace of life, and it shows the guy from a baby to becoming an old man to his grave, to showcase that life passes to quickly and so you should, as it says, play more ;D....so not really all that disturbing |:
I was waiting for the so called "scary and upsetting" scenes in this. But instead I laughed! Great advert. What is wrong with the over-sensitive world of today?
Why the hell was this taken off air? I mean seriously... lol. Why would people complain. Its just an advert mking people wanna buy their product. Some people just have no fun, they need to learn to live abit. Personally I think this is better than the rubbish we have nowadays. They are just so simple and stuff. WHY WOULD IT MAKE YOU WANNA BUY THEIR PRODUCT? This is what advertising is all about right?
All you pathetic losers think that this imagery is acceptable? The woman was supposed to have had a miscarriage, but oh no - turns out the child didn't get time to play on an Xbox.
This was banned by public demand. Because 'real' people who have suffered the horror of a miscarriage have, rightly, found this depiction of a child being thrown out of a woman upsetting, given Microsoft have toyed with the notion that the infant would have died in a matter of seconds.
@miniroll32 Miscarriage? You are kidding right. This was obviously depicting a birth as it was about life (the result from a birth) not death (the results of a miscarriage), ie: Life is short
they took it off the air because they dont want people thinking too much about important stuff; its better to keep you all dazed to mantain the status quo;
why dont you now go and google life extension tech or biogerontechnology and get yourselves informed
Lol no, but ill tell ya how that and porn is related in a moment. We eat sleep and shit video games, and the like from kids to adults and then ya die lol,
Well I think it's very traumatic and hardly a "positive statement about life." What's the statement--that men fly naked through the air, live their entire lifespan in 30 seconds, while screaming in agony the entire time, and then die? I think it's in incredibly poor taste and not the least bit funny.
i dno where it was banned but i saw it on tv isnt as weird as the ad for ps2 with all the wacky shit going on like the guy getting tortured and all but yea cool ad
@Nisshutsuji sorry for making a comment on such an old comment, but the commercial is saying life is to short to be sitting in a cubicule working all day have some fun.
I wonder what kind of sad person actually takes the time to complain over ads? Old women with nothing to do I guess. Now the Xbox ads consist of that woman staring at a tv with a cinema in her head... crap.
I guess it's the same types who got offended at johnathon ross when they never even listened to the show, just need something to do.
In 2002, this advert for Microsoft's Xbox console drew complaints from viewers who found it "offensive, shocking and in bad taste". It starts with a woman giving birth to a baby boy who, in a surreal sequence, ages and eventually crashes into his own grave. The advert ends: "Life is short. Play more." Microsoft stated that the advert conveyed a "positive statement about life" but the complaints were upheld and the advert was banned.
Er... nope, that's the old Xbox font, not the Xbox 360, but the original Xbox...
I have to agree that the 2 fonts do look slightly similar tho, but check out they character Y and M in the ad which have strokes sticking out, just like the B in the original Xbox logo.
It has also been rumored that women that play for more-than-common lengths of time, evolve some sort of hyper-sonic-speed effect in their female organs, effectively launching their newborn at several miles per hour when given birth. Surprisingly these "catapult-children" age far faster than their normal counterparts. This commercial was a actual cause filmed by the use of invisible wires around the "test subject" New models do NOT cause this effect
Its widely known that the very first Xbox model had a catapult seat which was intended to launch you a couple of centimeters in the air, to simulate effects as earthquakes explosions etc, while this rivaled sonys dual shock, there where also reported causes where you got throwed out really really hard, causing human projectiles flying in the air, so fast that the victim would age faster and die. This macabre fact was put on a commercial as some attempt for high risk sport fans to buy a console.
