hmmm I'm not sure what you mean by your comment, the 80's were great about mixing up races on shows. Silver Spoons, Magnum PI, Designing Women, Night Court, Star Trek TNG, V the Series, Chips, The A Team, 21 Jump Street, Facts of Life, Different Strokes and lots of others. The 80's were far less racial than the 90's. Things changed after Rodney King and OJ.

I watched this show because it was the last series my favourite actor Doug McClure did, and it has some great in-jokes about his show The Virginian,where Kyle at Universal Studios says "This is where I made my first series The Floridian" and later "Then I had my first failure,a series called The West Virginian,missed having a hit series by just one state"!Older viewers, who remembered Doug in The Virginian would have got the joke.
