  • This is the first time I have seen this uncensored vision and it sounds more scary with the screams!

  • Uh, the title is rather misleading...

  • If you think about it, they should have included this into the game. The whole entire game was done by James' perspective, he lulled himself into a false sense of security believing that Mary might still be alive and that he played no role in her death. To see himself kill her, like that, and to hear her screaming through the pillow... it would have been a much more traumatic stab into his psyche, forcing him to realize that he had murdered her... [Cont.]

  • @ZahnwehZombie Supposedly in the visual novel, they had posed the possibility that when he went to Silent Hill, he had her body in the trunk of his car. Ready to kill himself so he could be with her, but the trauma was so great that his mind just couldn't bare it any longer. He fell into a delusion that she had died from the illness three years ago, and that she called him to the town. Only by confronting his demons, and seeing through the lies could he begin to accept her death.

  • @ZahnwehZombie *Silent Hill 2: The Novel

  • Wasn't very scary. I've seen worse. :3

  • Why'd he kill her???

  • @XInuyashaKagome4ever

part of the game is to discover why that happens, but when you play it from the beginning the only thing you know she died of an illness, her death was an open secret that at the end of the game is revealed.

  • @XInuyashaKagome4ever Play the game. It's worth it.

  • rape?

  • fuck... this is a sick game.... but im lovin it anyway... dont get it.... am i psycho?

  • sacred. Sure it is,

  • James = humanity FAIL

  • rule #1 of silent hill perfected by james sunderland: Don't kill your wife, cuz she'll come back and want revenge.

  • what the hell?! I just watched the censored version, damn...

  • This is definitely one insistence where restraint negatively impacted the game. Watching the censored version, the scene was too clean and without impact to get me to feel the emotion the scene wanted me to have.

  • This should be included in the next release. It's so much better with this in it. The next scene, you'd be James. Devastated as he should be.

  • Thes most sad history in the Silent hill serie... This Always, my favorite SH Game

  • omg -__-" took me a while to figure out he suffocates her with a pillow i swear to god he strangles her D: sigh now i feel stupid...and i've been playing this game for years...so i know more than ya'll if someone is like you noob >.>

  • 0:43

  • What you can't really see in this video, is that James first bends over Mary and gently kisses her forehead and whispers, "I love you" before suffocating her. It was a difficult scene to film. GC

  • @GCNavigator You are a legend to us all Thank You so much for your work on SH2.

  • @GCNavigator You sir kick a respectful amount of ass. Keep up the good work!

  • I have to say that this is still one of the creepiest parts in any of the silent hill games, besides the screaming headless mannequin O_o

  • The title seems a bit naughty and misleading, if you catch my drift...

  • Wah! What are we going to do on the bed? Mary! MY GOD NO, MMMMMF~!

  • this is just like the time when alex killed josh but he went insane and went to a mental hospital for a long period of time and still thinks he is saving his brother when he is already dead.. please correct me if i am wrong

  • @supermancatcool You're right! its like the movie Jacob's Ladder-AWESOME movie!!! If you haven't seen it-do so!

  • @quetzalel i watched jacob's ladder and it was awesome as hell i loved that movie

  • @supermancatcool

    Thanks for the spoiler!

  • @AdrienFowl its all in a days work billy stay in school :)

  • James: Hey.....Hey.....Hey Mary......Wanna have a pillow fight? :D

Mary: Mmmmnnnngh, no James, Im tired...

James: ._____. .......*stuffs her face with a pillow* SUCK IT, BETCH!!!

  • I always interpreted it as he attempted to murder her, but stopped at the last second - Mary gave him the speech you see in the end of the game. She passes on of her illness but James still wallows in his depression and madness until his delusions pull him to Silent Hill. James has to walk the path of his guilty conscience to face the truth - that he's not a murderer, that Mary still loved him to the end, and that he has to move on with his life.

  • @HisEmptyHouse Well, it's generally accepted that he does in fact kill her, and the reason he wallows i depression is because he is guilt ridden over killing her etc.

  • censorship is rediculous, its never helpt to prevent anything, kids dont need violant games to kill some people at school. kids dont need bleeps on tv to prevent them from hearing words like FUCK. they will learn these words on the street , at school etc. censorship is bullshit, i feel like a little kid when i watch tv and stuff is bleeped out, wtf is that, im not 5 years old

  • i wouldn't say this is any creepier than the rest of the game lol. but it's just sad how it all happened and what led up to the events that caused everything..and all the events james had to go through to find out the truth :\

  • I'm sorry, what about this "isn't for weak stomachs"??

  • Comment removed

  • In my opinion, the reason why they took the noise of Mary struggling to breathe, is because the atmospheric sounds that happen in his subconscious reality is scary. And the reality of him murdering his wife is scary without it.

  • I guess, the music is just a lot more appropriate (not sure about how to write this word, sorry xD), because it's more a very sad moment in the life of James than a cruel scene. And don't forget: A part of her wanted to die anyway...

Honestly, I prefer scenes where you see how people are screaming out loud (especially in slow motion ^^)... With no sound at all <3 *Goosebumps*

  • Ok he was killing her, I thought he raped her for some reason! I guess cuz he was on top of her...yea the screams make it more dramatic ;~;

  • @sailormoonxsonic That_wouldnt've_been_very_nice

  • okay so what happend was James kissed her on the forehead and then suffocated her for some reason, but since of course we know mary's still alive he probably either knocked her unconscious or it's just a silent hill trick, or atleast that's what we know by this point

  • @YburGrebnesor No, she's not alive at all.

  • @YburGrebnesor

You're so far off the point it's not even funny.

  • Oh my... when i reached this point... i felt sorry for James...

  • I guess the screaming does make it more violent. Without it, I was under the impression that Mary was close to death anyway and didn't put up much of a fight and probably wanted to die. With the screaming you can see and hear that she had a lot of vigor left in her when she was killed and not as 'sickly' as she appeared...

  • Darnit James, that's not what pillow talk is!

  • What's he doing???raping her ??

It's hard to tell with all the fuzz and videos going back and fortg

  • @rosabaca21 He smothered his sick wife with the pillow to either a) free her from her suffering or b) free himself from her suffering. Either way, Mary had been sick for quite some time and James was seriously messed up in the head by that point. He repressed the memory of the murder and only started to remember when he returned to Silent Hill...

  • @rosabaca21 Killing her with the pillow.

  • @BloodlessxStrawberry

    Yeah, thanks for explaining! ^^

  • Comment removed

  • @krissysaysagain SPAM!

  • @BloodlessxStrawberry

But at least Aspen is informed now so that's one down. Now let's get back on topic..... Silent Hill 2! :D

  • Comment removed

  • @BloodlessxStrawberry

Obviously not. But there are many people out there with the attitude that a wife cannot be raped and it is ridiculous. I'm not talking about being misinformed. I'm referring to the people who genuinely believe that being married means forced sex is suddenly in the contract. But since in Aspen's case, it actually was a case of being misinformed and not a case of being a misogynistic tool, I digress.

  • @BloodlessxStrawberry You are 100% ABSOLUTELY correct! I have heard TOO many cases of POS husbands forcing/raping their wives into having sex.

  • I believe he is in fact raping her. Pyramid Head is a subconscious creation of James' mind. He created PH as a way of punishing himself for having killed Mary-but remember that PH has raped the Mannequins too-an obvious analogy or allusion to James' deed. Remember this also: James was repressed (starved) sexually and he took it out on an ill Mary. We can hear her screaming-if he was just smothering her-we would not hear screaming..more like gagging sounds.....

  • hey guys i didnt get the meaning of sinent hill 2 mary is maria ? or somthing lik ethat ?? because iin the prison maria is telling james about the videotape and the hotel and when you go to the hotel to find james wife you see a leter that says mr james you forgot your videotape from the last time ..... WTF IS THAT how maria knows it PLEASE SOMEONE EXPLAIN !!!!!!

  • @BloodlessxStrawberry INDEED.DX

  • why those assholes censor evey thing, they shouldnt censor anyyy game, just rate age maximum..

  • @fernandodchusyd that would be the logical thing to do, imo also, however that doesn't guarantee some adult will buy it for his younger brother/sister without the parent knowing... and then when the minor gets his hands on it and his behavior changes due to game experience, overconcerned parents tend to start protesting...

  • Thats what gets me annoyed the most "lazy" parents blaming the worng people for their own mistakes. parents need to looks up the meaning of recreation and find out what their child is up to as well as be their for them. parents come before video games and it is from them where children get influenced. so for a child to submit to a video game = bad parenting full stop. Their point isnt valid enough to censor or bann a game just because there is a possibility of it getting into the hands of kids.

  • brought me to tears :'/ but the screem went on for to long :(

  • sorry but, the actor who's doing the screaming kinda ruins it :/ but overall, it's pretty damn disturbing...

  • wtf james is a murderer

  • what disturbed me the most is that she sleeps without a blanket

  • @Mailman692 yes lol

  • >_> Suena escalofriante con el audio!

    +1

  • No wonder why they changed it, it's disturbing. But the second time I heard I laughed out loud wondering where the actress playing Mary was taught to act. It sounded like a badly done scream in a horror movie.

Not like her being tortured or something worse, more like she's trying to scream when seeing a monster.

  • I dont think James is forgetful, but he is dishonest, lying to himself. I dont believe a guy can forget he had murdered someone before.

Also, I think the game producer should not cut this scene in pc version, it made me wonder why I did not have this scene when I played the game.

  • Come on Mary, eat the pillow. It's just a big fluffy marshmellow.

    Mary: James, wha-

    EAT IT

  • It wasn't that disturbing. I thought the silence made the scene much creepier.

  • My heart just sank

  • You made it seem more disturbing than it was

  • They shouldn't have cut this... so powerful, the game would have been, with this kind of guilt hanging about in the scene right afterwards. Without the audio the most significant impression is that James hurt Laura's feelings by being too honest. With it we'd have been going through what she was, and he was too.

  • It is worse with the audio.

  • I wish you hadnt made this vid fungo. I understand the interest to do it (It's the BEST horror mind/screw, heart clenching story/game thus made IMO) but to me the silence made the betrayal and shock so much more stark and horrifying. The static of the TV blended perfectly with the revelation that your playing not the victim of the story but the murderer. But above all, well done and timed. I just dont see a point in fixing something that isnt broke.

  • @AvacadoDesperado This was actually supposed to be in the original SH 2, but censors wouldn't allow it. They also wanted any attack you did on the monsters to leave a mark, even making it where you could chop off monster limbs (kind of like homecoming), but censors wouldn't allow it either. Just like how they had to change the Grey Children some in SH 1.

  • @1dbad, they changed the grey children in the PAL VERSION.

And, it's unknown as to why the audio was removed.

  • @Kari166 wat is grey children

  • @xGunshatx, those things with knives that you encounter at the school in the first Silent Hill game.

  • @xGunshatx, those things with the knives that you encounter at the school, in the first Silent Hill game.

  • @Kari166 Yes they did, but they actually changed it some before the game's official release anywhere, because video game censors found it too disturbing to have little children-like monsters attack you and that you could kill. :3

    And I read on a few different sites that it was due to the censors that it was removed. A lot ending up getting changed by them since they were touchy about a lot of things the SH creators wanted to do. xD;

  • Comment removed

  • @1dbad, no, they didn't. IT'S UNKNOWN as to why the screaming is missing. You can look it up on the official website. Same with the audio of Mary reading her letter to Laura.

All I know of OFFICIAL censoring, are the grey children in the PAL version of the game. They changed them because they were too child-like.

  • @Kari166 Perhaps I'm mistaken then. I'm almost positive I remember reading a reason for the removal of the scream, like it was due to censors or they didn't have enough room to fit it on the finished game or something, ect. And as for the letter, now that I have no idea why it was removed. Maybe they didn't think it was necessary for the final game or something. Do know that the website isn't the only official source of information though.

That's true, but they also changed them BEFORE the

  • @Kari166 game was released, and it's confirmed in the Book of Lost Memories, a Japanese book that was written by the creators of the games themselves. You can find a translated copy available for reading online, and it confirms that they grey children went through like 1 or 2 (don't remember which) changes before they were allowed to keep the version currently in game.

  • That is disturbing, yes. Mostly through the psychological aspect, the best type of horror, because it really skull-fucks you. Going into this, however, I thought it was going to go into a psychotic hallucination of James skinning his wife or something completely insane. This is still psychotic, only more subtle. Horror games miss that mark alot, but it is present here.

  • is he fucking her or sufficating her?

  • now that you think about it...

james is the closest protagonist to be like a villain

    a killer more specifically

  • WOO-HOO!!! XD

  • It just looks like he's suffocating her using his armpit.

  • so why did he suffocate her?

  • @MrsKittykatt009

It was a mercy killing. She was going to die a slow and painful death, so he ended her life quickly.

  • @MrsKittykatt009 If you get the good ending, he explains that part of him didn't want her to suffer, and the other part of him hated her and wanted his life back.

  • But its not even that disturbing with the extra screaming, all it does is actually makes you understand what he's doing. in the edited version you can't fucking tell he's suffocating her. JEEZ.

  • Not really that devastating but it's sad how her screams become quiet at the end. Just think about what would be in someone's mind at that point.

  • lol thats a turn on

  • how is this disturbing or not for weak stomachs?

  • this must be the saddest scene ever for any videogame.....

the whole time James know what he did....just he dont want to acept it...

just hear the wispers in the apartmen 109: ''See my dead wife and come home, do some laundry...''

  • Mary: Oh james Im sick.

James: Im sick in the head! Glr glr glr glr!

    Mary: wha?!

James: Uh I mean Im kinda sick too *Evily laughing in his thoughts*

  • nah...he was killing her, not raping her.

cause he couldn't suffer any longer, he wished to end it all

if Mary is dead, he'll be free again (at least he thinks)

the whole silent hill 2 story was James punishing himself for murdering his wife.

  • o_o He raped her dead body?

  • This actualy makes me hate the guy

  • JAMES YOU UNBELIEVABLE BASTARD. this is still my favorite game.

  • I don't see why they removed the audio. I don't find anything more disturbing than the rest of the game!

  • @BlitzCat122 wait i got the xbox version, is it uncensored? how can i tell if its uncensored. somebody tell me

  • @localSickened

This audio was never used for any version the game.

  • @BlitzCat122 It wasn't cut because it was inappropriate, it was cut because they preferred it without the audio, and personally, I do too.

  • Omg did James Rape Mary?......i think he raped Mary lol

  • @93MilionMilesToVenus no he KILLED her.

  • @phcopathicfyed Well then why the fuck is he looking for her in Silent Hill?! god no need to be rude

  • @93MilionMilesToVenus Oh, you haven’t deduced that yet? Sorry, im not trying to be rude. Anyway, James is crazy. He murdered his wife, and then denied it, blaming it on the sickness she had, and over time, believed it was true. He did it because of several reasons, 1 because she wouldn’t die even tho she was said to, 2 he couldn’t have sex with her, 3 she was always yelling at him and becoming angry for no reason, 4 she asked for death several times. So James did the deed. Crazy, right?

  • @phcopathicfyed Wow...what a fruitloop lol. does he die later in the game? cuz he's like...crazy lol

  • @93MilionMilesToVenus well, there are a couple endings to the game. The one where he dies is "In Water" ending. And that's the one i got first play through and my favorite. But James is such a complex character, fruitloop, yeah, but a likable fruitloop. Just play the game.

  • @phcopathicfyed oh ok thank you. sorry for any misunderstanding

  • I had the PC version of Silent Hill but I couldn't watch this scene

    how do you get it?

  • @exe2517 At the very end, when you go into room 312 in the hotel, you put the videotape into the TV and watch it.

  • @TearsofWolves I know that, I was asking what do you need to get the audio?

  • @exe2517 You can't get the audio. It was never released on any version of the game.

  • i think that this is a sex video

  • @pastrana288 try murder.

  • This should have been left in. It makes for a far more disturbing revelation.

  • @OsciIet i agree.

  • Kinda wish Team Silent had left it in. After watching P-Head raping anyting in its path, this was nothing.

  • watching this GIVES ME THE CREEPS!!

  • james suffocated her

  • One last response from me :)

I think I remember a few people saying at 1:01 James is rapeing her. It's just the clip of him smothering her but mirrored. (for anyone still wondering)

  • @LaurenHakusKid

Why is it rape? They're married right???

  • @Aspen70000000000

    You're an idiot...

  • @krissysaysagain

I'm sorry..but BloodlessxStrawberry explained it so I understand it know! :3

  • Comment removed

  • How did James kill her! :O

  • @Ichigo1431 He smothered Mary with a Pillow... o_O

  • @TheBravethunder So she's happy? :O But who would be happy about dieing.....probably james did something else (hint hint) O.o

  • How were you able to rip the video from the PC version? I have the PC version, but I can't extract anything from the data.cab files.

  • whyd he kill her :( and why is ph not in the first sh ?

  • @ubergammer00 Pyramid Head isn't in the first Silent Hill because Pyramid Head is a manifestation of James' repressed sexuality and misogyny. Since James wasn't in the first Silent Hill, there's no Pyramid Head.

Pyramid Head's in the other games mostly because he became the series mascot after Silent Hill 2, although he never really had the same subliminal meaning that he had in Silent Hill 2.

  • @korybing actually pyramid head was mainly manifested by James because of his desire to punish himself for his sins....the overly feminized monsters were the manifestation of his frustrated sex drive. Hence why I get confused when i see nurses in the movie and silent hill homecoming....they have no reason to be there >.>.

  • @Syntheticxox In Homecoming, The Nurses have a reason to be there Alex was Supposedly in the army and there are few women there. Alex is not gay, and has been deprived of anything sexually related in the Army, or he was just Horny when Silent Hill started to imagine his worst nightmare.

As for the movie, Maybe Rose is just a lesbian :O

  • @Syntheticxox Alex thought that the nurses were picked to be overly sexualized to help the wounded soldiers. As for the movie, it was a piece of shit that had nothing making senese. You are right about P-Head, though. His only reason of being was the maifestation of his sins for killing Mary, and later Eddie (the second P-Head after the Eddie battle). There was no reason for P-Head to be in Homecoming or the movie.

  • @LivingButDeadBand Ah yeah, the Bogeyman. Well, I think, or rather I might be giving the devs of HC way too much credit, but, I'd like to think that PH had been fulfilling his role as a punisher.

The way they did it was interesting. It wasn't necessarily after Alex but after his old man, Adam. It really didn't give a crap about Alex in it's cutscenes. Which could imply, Adam is always a step ahead of Alex since PH is always somewhere you can't reach yet. Orrr...

  • @Clarie011791 It could also depict Alex's anger with his father for being a negligent jerkass who blantantly made him feel inferior and unloved all his life. Although the intentions turned out to be better than we thought.

    Also, Adam obviously expresses much guilt in the church area so yeah, Pyramid Head and guilt go hand in hand with Silent Hill. >_>;

  • @Clarie011791 I personally believe HC is nothing more than a sequal to the movie. There was nothing tying it to SH1 or SH3 (I've heard of a document written by Douglas, but have yet to actually see said document), and other than symbalism of the monsters relating to James and Mary (which makes no sense) there is nothing that I can remember that connects it to SH2 or SH4. In that case, P-Head and Travis could have been only a fan-service gone wrong.

  • @LivingButDeadBand no, it had elements from the movie yes, and the models were based off of the movie's. But it wasn't intended to be associated in anyway with the movie. It was simply Double Helix apealing to the fans of the movie as well as the game...which didnt work. ANYWAY, we all know it was fan-service for the "Butcher" but i really also think "Boogieman" was the same.

  • Poor Mary...

  • Why does he kill her?

  • @yoda2287 She had been sick and was dying for a long time before the game started. She was afraid of dying and started to lash out at James who in turn killed her (depending on your style of play) as an act of compassion to release his lover from the pain she's experiencing or as revenge for the years he lost devoted to her.

  • @ryuail

Actually in all of the endings, he says he killed her because he hated her and wanted his life back. It had nothing to do with euthanasia.

  • @SunderlandJames I would disagree, every ending has a bit where it is eluded to that his murdering Mary has both maleficent and benign justifications. In the two endings James says that he hated her Mary replies with (Leave ending): "if that was true, why do you look so sad?" and (in Water ending): "You killed me James, and you're suffering for it. It's enough." So it does leave it open to the viewer to decide. Also it's good to know this game, even being over 9 years old still sparks debates.

  • @yoda2287 To rape her illness infested courps *notice the belt buckle sounds*

  • apparently someone being smothered by a pillow sounds like my mates puppy xD

  • So james is a bad guy?

  • @Gorre14 No. His wife was VERY sick and he wanted to put her out of her misery. He killed her, and in turn his MIND was in Silent Hill.

  • @Gorre14

In a way he is. No sane person would smother their wife or husband. But James later shows remorse so he's not a merciless sociopath.

  • @sharkladyindisguise if you take off the pyramid head helmet, it's James underneath. PH embodies James' anger, sexual frustration, and guilt.

  • @shophet125

Yes, but there's no proof he actually looks like James.

  • @shophet125 That part I know; everything PH does is a symbol of something that haunts James.

  • The first time I saw the censored version of this video I didn't actually realise what was going on =P I don't see why the sound had to be cut out of certain versions, it doesn't seem that bad to me.

  • @FieryGatoh Compared to some of the other shit that happens in the series, yeah it's not that bad, but there is something rather chilling about actually being able to hear Mary's muffled screams.

    <
