This a great version, he's singing the vocal track live, but the backing music is canned. Some of the inflections, even on just a word here or there, you can just hear the "feeling" he puts into his live vocals....amazing talent, awesome all around!!!!!!!!!

You must remember that elton john DIDNT WRITE this song. Nor any of the others that could be taking in that way. (your song for example). Bernie Taupin wrote all the lyrics and Elton wrote the music.

It was originally about a Vietnam vet who returned blind, and went off to spain, but the last verse (that explained all this) was left out.
