are you saying this is horrible blocking? are you guys retarded? in the NFL DE are train to get in th back field within 3 seconds which means the quarter back should be able to get the ball off within 3 seconds

For those of you who say horrible pass blocking, you have probably never played football a day in your life.

As a lineman, you are supposed to block for the area five yards behind the center, not five yards behind the tight end.

So it becomes difficult when the quarterback runs six yards away from where you are blocking

The footwork and handfighting looks really realistic-- like what you'd see in a game.

I don't have anything newer than 08, so yeah... that looks like almost ridiculous improvement from what I've played.

This is cool, maybe now guys online will stop rolling out of the pocket on every single play or stop the "30-step" drops in the pocket. Ian Cummings did a great job with this game, too bad he had to grow up with that last name, you just know kids gave him a lot of shit lol

exactly. in the previous version, it was too easy for fast qb's to avoid pressure and run with it. it looks like the lineman are specifically blocking the pocket area and collapse when the qb runs. much much better.

also, in 09 and 08, it was almost impossible to pass rush with a DE manually. it looks better now.

What I want from Madden is smarter CPU-controlled players. Watch a kickoff on 09. The kicking team just runs straight down the field, and if the blockers go in front of the returner and the returner is going off to a side, the other guys just keep running straight down the field.

You'r right though. EA barely focuses on Madden AND also NCAA football every year. And if they are it is sad. Because all they do is update the rosters and add one changed feature to ONE aspect of the game every year. This year it's blocking. They need to really step it up, because as a customer I've been fine with buying every 3rd edition. If everyone else would wise up and see its the same, EA could lose money and at least put better effort.

your wrong it takes alot of work they update teh graphics, the have added new animations, new player characteristics, new tackle styles, player styles, and alot of new things to make it more realistic

yea its a great improvement but they still need to work on making the players move less robotic.

some parts of the animations look great, but then it just looks like a canned animation after the blocking animation is over and its back to regular play. they need to work on making the players move more like humans.

I wish I saw more blocking where a player gets knocked down and has to get up to make a play. That happens a lot in the NFL but not in Madden.

this seems pretty good, since you're QB has to stay in the pocket and not run away lik we used to do even if you were playin' with a Pocket Presence qb such as Manning or Brees
