dude: "blah blah blah...kanye" Pete Rock: ehhhhh.... dude: "he had a stack." Pete Rock: what, a stack of records? dude: "no a stack of CDs" Pete Rock: yeah CDs are good for making those queer ass beats he's fond of. I fuck with vinyl cause I fuck with hip-hop. (The End)
Kanye is the master homie no disrespect but kanye is likely the best producer in music in the last 10 years regaurdless of genre you are top 5 hip hop exclusively in the 80's; 90's at best bruh don't be goin scotty pippen on your peers
@AdamsInc71 J Dilla & Kanye are different. Sometimes Dilla doesn't even loop a sample into equal measures & has transitions that just don't flow. If you gave somebody a normal J Dilla record 90% of them could tell you it's a sample without knowing the song. If you gave someone a Kanye record many people might think it's completely original because it flows so fluid. Any rapper can tell you it's easier to flow over a Kanye beat than a J Dilla beat.
@tres311 Kanye fell off in '06. His music is too digital and lifeless these days. His sampling has gotten lazy. Kanye got rich off pop songs and surrounding himself with a team of engineers/producers to assist him.
MBDTF had a team of 6-8 sound engineers/producers plus an orchestral arranger. Kanye is overrated these days.
@1ANDONLYJPJ seriously... what is RaynMan718 smoking? anyway, i think the decline of sampling really hurt hip hop. The 'feel' (emotional weight of the record/sweetness of melody) just isn't there anymore.
@RaynMan718 In Kanye's case it is a bad thing though, because he was largely digging up those obscure samples so that he could take credit for them...
@romeycash And you know this how? You can say whatever you want about Kanye on a personal level but that does not take away from his producing ability.
It`s about fuckin time Vlad put some real cats on his show.

@tres311 he is a beast at producing, but he relies too heavily on sampling. that alone stops him from being the best...

zeesh1989 8 months ago
@zeesh1989 True but he also samples a lot of random stuff that hip hop producers wouldn't usually sample.
