The verses have a similar structure, the choruses have similar structures, the "Ohhhh" bridge part sounds the same, and the main riff sounds the same. People would not be stupid to say it sounds like Times Like these, because it does.

Sure the bands evolving their style plays part, but Bob is a very hands on kinda guy, he pitches in alot. Which sometimes works out but i think he likes to get a very commercial sound out of bands.

This Entire Song, The Intro, Verses and Chorus are basically "Times like these" by the Foo Fighters. Though the notes are different the Verse follows the same pattern and the Chorus is the exact same chord progression as Times like these's one.
