If you are straight, then you don't actually know what it's like being born gay. Your comment is based on ASSUMPTIONS about us that have no truth behind them. Regardless, if homosexuality was a choice, there would still not be a reason to deny same sex couples the right to civil marriage. Prejudice is not based on logic. What about those born with ambiguous genitalia? Are they male, or female? Who's to decide?
The Mormon Church didn't donate exempt funds to any political party or proposition. Good luck with pulling their 501 c status. Just a waste of more funds on lawyers and court costs. Perhaps those funds should go to the cities where they have to have additional peace offers on staff for these gay price parades? just a thought while my classes get cut and tuition goes up.
religions can believe what they like - or even tell people how to interpret scripture...when they begin telling congreagations how to vote and raise money and give it to political causes then they broke the law....
for staters...they have to answer now to the IRS at the state and local levels...and law suits are now pending to make sure that LDS loses it tax exempt status...after that - they can do as they please...

Let me help you understand. The Mormons prophet instructed his followers to donate time and money for prop 8. The proposition steps in peoples rights and that is unacceptable and not negotiable for anyone that believes in human rights. The demonstrations are a way to let this cult leader and followers know that in America you cant use religion as a tool to discriminate and oppressed a minority.
as california, yeah, it's at least 1/4 their fault as one in four dollars raised for prop 8 came frrm the lds church. much of it from out of state. what a waste of time snd money.
civil rights....no gay person is born gay. there is absolutely no proof of it, but we are all born male, female, black, white, brown.
YES ON 8 ALWAYS. Don't redife marriage because of your sexual preference. That is why we call you gay and homo, not hetero or straight.
