  • -15???? Here in brazil with +18 C its the same shit if you car using Etanol fuel

  • Shit car

  • Only -15 aweryone new car ist shit

  • Seat set is crap

  • if you have a problem at cold starting it's good to turn on your headlights for like 30sec before starting an engine.. why? because je little internal battery resistor is cold and when its cold it can't give amperage required for engine to start ( around 700A ), by turning on the lights that resistor will warm up and the battery will be able to deliver the power needed to start the engine =)

  • @Heci55CrO Doesn't the preheater draw the juice through that resistor? If yes then i bet the preheater which is in fact a resistance sucks enough current to heat the resistor up. I see no point to use 110 (55 X 2) watt headlight to heat the resistor.

  • @oscarnovember i have a 307 HDI and that preheater like does nothing, i had much shorter starting time when i had headlights on for a minute.. now i dont say that it does nothing.. :)

  • Thank you Kiriuxa, you are correct of course, I did stop at our local dealer who told me where, even though it's a right hand drive it's still where you said. Thank you.

  • Does anyone know where the bonnet release is on this car, no drivers manual. Just bought a 2001 model

  • @TheFred1935 There's a lever that you have to push, on the left (if it's left hand drive), where all the cars usually have it. Open the drivers door and you should see it.

  • My Xsara 1,9 TD acted like this when it was -25 C. I'd say battery is weak. -15 is like cold summer morning compared to -25.

  • Good job...

  • its nothing to do with the glow plugs , in cold conditions diesel thickens up so its harder to start unless you put a addivtive in then you wouldn't have this problem

  • Can You please write the title of that music played? Link You gave earlier is dead now. Thanks!

  • lietuva ;DD

  • Starter motor isnt very good. I replaced mine today with a 2kw one instead of the 1.7 that was on it...much better in the -12c this morning!

  • It can be solved with a bigger starting engine.

I have it sometime's in the winter but here the temperature is often higher, -5/-10 C.

  • jajaj rata cambiale la bateria !

  • I'VE LOVED THE MUSIC!!!

CAN YOU PLS. TELL ME FOR WHOM WAS THAT??

  • @Kiriuxa

  • Ha Ha ...bye bye peugeot !

Never buy a french car.....not me.

  • -28 at night. good start at morning

  • Battery failed ... Replace...

  • I have a Peugeot 307 2.0 HDi from 2003 and have done cold starts at -35C here in Sweden early in the morning. Only one preheat and it started after just 2-3 seconds. It really sounds like and old Mercedes diesel from the 80's when that cold.

A tip is the replace the battery with the highest amp battery you can fit into the battery box, it helps alot. I have a Webasto heater installed as well, makes it safe to use it frequently without draining the battery completely.

  • Ever heard of glow plugs ?? has this car got them ?? you usaully turn the key backwards and turn the glow plugs on first if cold

  • @v6dlc That's actually what i did, three times at the begining of the video

  • @v6dlc It's a peugeot. it sucks.

  • @v6dlc did you not see the glowplug symbol on the dash...

  • puagggggggggg

    the best vw.

  • Spegni la radio, cretino! assorbe corrente....

    Stop the radio! kickass!

  • @MrAngelosilvestri What does the radio has to with starting it? It stops playing at ignition and the fact that it plays for 10 sec, doesn't do too much harm to the battery.

Oh yeah, one more thing, you the one who's cretino! :)

  • @MrAngelosilvestri Kickass? Wtf. retard.

  • @MrAngelosilvestri Wtf's a "kickass"? idiot.

  • liar! 05/01/2009!!!! not 2001

  • @MrNixan1 That's the actual date. 2001 is the production date

  • @MrNixan1

Mr nixan you are a fool for saying that haha

  • bonito carro...

  • What was that song playing?

  • Yeah. There is some kind of heat-up controller.

I had to replace that thing after 4 year only.

Truly said, buying a peugeot was one of my worst decisions.

The maintenance of that car becomes more and more expensive to me because of the repair costs.

  • my 307 its in spanish .... how play the music?

  • In Poland during this winter we had -34. No problems with starting my Peugeot. 1.6hdi, one preheat and go. I have no idea why that guy doing 3 prehets??? WTF

  • other noticeable thing was the outside temp on display. -15 celcius. That is a hell of a cold start.

  • que frio!

  • maibe a bad injector?

  • My punto II at - 20 in Poland this winter start at first time , he cant beacause he have all opened radio ect

  • My Dacia Logan started at -28*C with Standard Fuel xD

  • just watched the vid again and note the fuel and temp guages drop to off position showing the volt drop to ecu occuring, common problem on pug 307s amongst others.

  • its not the cold, its your starter motor .engine is turning over too slow, for crank sensor to fire injectors . also starter is pulling battery voltage in system down which stops ecu from firing engine (needs 9.5v stable) .hope this helps. new starter from europarts is £75 new unit not recon.

  • my 307 started at -23C

  • I've been there. The main thing you did wrong, although it may have helped start the car is truning it on and off. This can warp the glowplugs and damage them. I used to have the problem with a diesel truck. most of my coworkers wanted to flick the switch quickly to get them to warm up. It's progeria. Here today, gone tomorrow. But, ohh do I know how that cold feels! And for the haters, Peugeot makes the best diesel motor. Unless, they've been upped since I had my kitty back in '08. Year 2002

  • @IntiHehlua peugeot don't make their own diesel motors actually

  • I heard something about that. Who makes it?

  • they use the DW10 diesel motor from ford

  • Thanks for the info.

  • actually they do. Citroen and Peugeot have a joint engine company called PSA peugeot

  • Check your preheating system, it should start better, and not skip the first 3 seconds.

  • I have a peugeot 307 from 2002 and i didn't had any problem with starting..watch my tube and you will see that at -13 it started instantly

  • Well I have a 307 since 2001, no engine problems or electric. So maybe it's a piece of shit if some of you don't know how to take care of a car

  • hello ,im a mechanic ,dont buy a peugeot they are shit ,it will cost you a lot on repair bills ,they are full of costly faults most of which are electrical some are very serious mechanical failures ,beleive me i have one DONT BUY ONE ,check out the forums and youtube ,you have been warned.......

  • I spent a bit on electric problems, mostly changing bulbs. It's cheap to replace the bulb, but it does add up. Otherwise, that kitty growled.

  • @dnurney

    My family has a peugeot 307 from 2004 and a 406 from 2002.

No problem with both cars on these years..

SO, BUY A PEUGEOT, YOU WILL MAKE A GOOD DECISION

  • Weak battery and possibly burnt glow plugs. It should start much easier. And you're not doing your glow plugs any favours by doing that.

Also, might want to try a top quality oil, not the factory spec Total, and maybe a friction modifier additive, like MoS2 (molybdenum disulfide) from Liqui Moly.

And don't keep the oil more than 15000 km.

  • Have you checked glow plugs? Our passat started much easier at -23.

  • we are started our 307 in -23C :))

  • mano '01 406 kuriasi gal čiut lengviau, šildau 2-3 kartus

  • 5 stars.

  • to be fair, -15 is extremely cold. I remember when I was a kid, looking out of the window on wintery mornings at all the neighbours trying in vain to start their Maestros, Marinas and Talbot Horizons, with little or no success. Modern cars are, thankfully, much more robust!

  • bas voyons

  • Cool, the diesel-engine is stomping the first moment because of failed ignition of the the fuel in the cold air.

  • i`m starting to worry because i have the same engine in my 307 hdi and this was a very hard cold start ...

  • No worries, mine 307 started even easily in -15 last year. Just mine 307 is from 2003

  • @albianos

    woow ???

my carina E from 94 can start on -15 like it were no deal for it..

Toyota make cars... Peugeot makes shit.. french cars stink as hell.. they always get engine problems.. and so on.. fucked up waste of money

  • @AhmedThaking

Well, the PSA (Peugeot and Citroen) HDi diesel engines are one of the best turbo diesel engines in the world.

Better than any Toyota or VW.

And you cant compare petrol with diesel when it comes to cold starting. Although it seems like his battery isnt fully charged. =p

  • @jonsen2k

TRust me man.. I've expierence with peugeot.. the had engine problems with my peugeot 406 SW from 2002 it is a shit car and get broken or techical problems very fast..

my brothers citroen have problems starting cold ( diesel)

My fathers bmw starts like water (diesel)

french cars are shit trust me man.. i know about it..

  • isuzu make the best diesel engines, the most hardiest and most reliable, especially the all mechanical ones with no engine management systems.....ahhhh the old simple diesels..i love them!

  • Hehe always the same thing when its freezing , the displays are ghosting when its cold .

  • ups :D

  • ja w zeszłym roku - 24 tez bez problemowo ale musiałem też kilka krotnie podgrzać świece.

  • my 307 starts at -20 with no prob. :)

  • I drive one of these they are fantastic but living in Australia means the coldest mine will see is about -5 at the most!

  • Petrol engine is the best for the coldest winters

  • Pretty amazing effort getting it started in -15, good on you ya little Peugeot!

  • Nice cold start but it has more lights that my christmas tree lol

  • Comment removed

  • Well, good for you :) I guess Alfa engines are better in that sense, although I doubt it starts that good after spending a night in -19C :)

  • Yes, really, after 1 night outside, it was -19C when I went to work at 6:30. I was also suprised by how well it started:)

  • Yeah, but this car has a weak battery and possibly burnt plugs.

  • thats a fuck loads of lights

  • I love diesel engines, be it in cars or trucks, but their being cold natured can be a problem. Did you plug in the block heater the night before?

  • Hello! Yes, diesels are good. Even this one in the Peugeot, not particularly powerful, but still very nice to drive. No, i did have the block heater plugged in for the night, I don't even have it and acctually don't know any people in my country (Lithuania) who use those. However, are might be wrong :)

  • Come cold weather here in the states, I'll have to see if my neighbor will let me cold start his 6.2L diesel truck. It takes quite a lot of effort to cold start it and it smokes like a chimney. But it's a good truck, still.

Are most cars in Lithuania diesel or petrol?

  • Wow, 6.2L, crazy :)) I think that the biggest diesel engine I've seen in Lithuanian are AUDI's 4.2TDI's , though I might be foregetting something :) We don't have the "american style" pick-up trucks back here.

Talking about diesel and petrol, it's actually hard to tell. But i think there are more petrol cars, although the number of diesels has been increasing over the years.

  • If you think a 6.2L is big, my favourite is the 7.3L Powerstroke in 1996 - 2002 Ford F-250 and F-350.

The 6.2L is in a 1991 Chevrolet Suburban. I do know that most European vehicles are not a big as we have here in the states, and things like our "SUV's" and pick-up trucks are used more for work in Europe, and not everyday driving like we do here.

We do now have the Dodge Sprinter which is a rebranded Mercedes van with the 5-cyl turbodiesel, and more recently, the Ford Transit. We've caught on.

  • They are big engines point is that a European engines that are smaller can produce alot more horsepower than a big American engine.

  • Well, the vehicles I'm referring to are larger vehicles. The idea of smaller vehicles having diesels has been slow to catch on. So far, really only Mercedes, BMW, and VW have mainstreamed small diesels. Thanks to Daimler getting in with Chrysler, there are a couple of Jeep models with Mercedes diesels. I would love to see more smaller vehicles with a diesel option here.

  • You're wrong. There are a lot more car makes, models and motors in the world than you've seen there, in the US.

VW PD diesels are shit compared to PSA, GM/Fiat, and others'.

  • I know this, I'm just saying the USA has not caught up to the rest of the world yet. Ford has smaller format diesels in Europe that we don't have here yet. Same with GM. I want more diesel options in more makes and models of cars. Maybe one day the USA will figure it out.

  • I love diesel engines as well. So smooth to drive and reliable and tough compared to petrol engines. I love the sound of them stomping on cold days at start up. I have a small 1.5 diesel peugeot 106. Small french car and regulary does 60mpg. About 94mph top speed. Regular gets it's ass kicked and had a hard life with not enough oil changes. 173,000miles and still going strong. I have a few videos. I need to get one of it on a cold start

  • pretty cheet car for that cold countrie

  • dont live is such a cold country then lol

  • It must not like the cold? She sounds rough upon start up....
