Asking more than this of a single GTX 260 is asking too much. The card can run any new game out there today, but you have to have no AA for it to really function smoothly. IT is playable with some AA, but not silky smooth. You need 2 GTX 260's to really hit the spot.

No it doesn't support 8GB of RAM, but RAM doesn't make your computer faster you dumb fuck. It only allows you to open more programmes at once. Are you sure that it can't affect FPS? In a test by new.softpedia it shows that the maximum FPS in a Chronicles of Riddick game in 64bit XP is 20.48 FPS. On 32bit XP it's 90+. Can't affect FPS that much my ass.

I'm planning on getting a GTX 260 later this year (building my first PC). I already have a case, HDD, Memory, PSU and DVD drive so I will probably get the motherboard + CPU + 260 during the holidays.
I can't wait to play this game. I've been playing other FPSs to satisfy my craving, but there's something about the physics of Crysis that will keep me hooked for a while.
Oh and Far Cry 2 is coming out... should be good as well.

yeah you can, that card can play on high no problem trust me. download the demo and put thehardware to the test. that card can play the game on very high but you might have to set the rez down a bit for it to be playable, roughly set the game at 1024x768 or 1280x768 or even 1280x1024 all on very high you can play but if you get lag set the rez down to 1024x768 should do the trick. anymore questions??
it should, take a measureing tape to the inside of the case and tell me how many inches you have in it, and roughly how wide it is. make sure it doesn't cover your ATA slots or anything important that you might need, if covering some things isn't important to you then you can put that card in

to be honest they both have HDMI, i believe the 9800 gx2 has it's HDMI built in and the gtx 260/280 both come with an HDMI cable which is pretty much the same thing but its external. the thing about the 9800 gx2 it offers 2 gpus built on the sabe card offering 1 gig of V ram both sides offering 512 mb. the gtx 280 has 1 gig just on one card as its a single gpu soulation the gtx 260 follows alittle behind setting at 896, which isn't a big differences . but i would say go with the gtx260/280 ether

ATI first card to deliever DX 10 was the 2900 XT which had 1 gig or 512mb of Vram and was Tecnoly more pwerful then the 8800 gtx ultra
But see ATI is only overclockable a little that's what makes it cheaper and more powerful. Nvidia perfected their card then released it giving you plenty room to overclock and great stability. Thus statistically showing showing ATI broke more than the Nvidia cards after the release of DX10. Yes you may get a more powerful card but it a lot less stable. Same argument goes for Intel and AMD. ATI is AMD.
i get about 50 fps on high which was what you saw in this video, on very high i get max about 30 fps this card is whicked all i need to do is buy better ram then my fps rate will be more stable and higher. cause from the bench marks ive seen i can get way more then what im getting now with the gtx 260. it really depends on your setup, i will overclock my cpu to about 4.20 ghz. then after that i will update to a beta driver then run the game through a series of tests
hey thanks, the GTX 260 would be the better buy reason being well its almost as fast as the gtx 260 only lacking 4 to 10 max fps behind depending on what resolution you use on crysis, from what i saw in some of the bench marks its really and truly an amazing card, you would only need the gtx 280 if you have a 32 inch screen. don't be fooled by the stream processors the 280 is equipt with 240 of them and the gtx 260 has 197 stream processors, here are then bench marks have a look
ok all i gotta say is if you want crysis and all the other games go with nivdia cause the programers of the games optimize their software for nividas hardware. so by saying that most of these games will run better on nivdas video cards, ATI their cards are faster but they run like crap with most games and they are cheaper then nivdia. but the new 4870 and the 4870 x2 versus the gtx 260-280, i would have to say its a tie, now what it comes down to is how much do you want to spend. get the 260.

It was 180 something or other, the latest at December 20th. the game couldn't accomplish very high that well at 1680x1050.

Will gtx 260 fit in a dell xps 420 case?

ATI sucks because they overclock the hardware to the limit.

yeah and at the same time there are really no optimazations for most games,which makes it really unplayable.the reason why they are overcloackings and adding more and newer Vram is because they want to get alote of the game companys ation on there hardware so they can get back into the game.once achieved then everyone will want an ATI card thus dominating Nivida. ATI first card to deliever DX 10 was the 2900 XT which had 1 gig or 512mb of Vram and was Tecnoly more pwerful then the 8800 gtx ultra

But see ATI is only overclockable a little that's what makes it cheaper and more powerful. Nvidia perfected their card then released it giving you plenty room to overclock and great stability. Thus statistically showing showing ATI broke more than the Nvidia cards after the release of DX10. Yes you may get a more powerful card but it a lot less stable. Same argument goes for Intel and AMD. ATI is AMD.

i get about 50 fps on high which was what you saw in this video, on very high i get max about 30 fps this card is whicked all i need to do is buy better ram then my fps rate will be more stable and higher. cause from the bench marks ive seen i can get way more then what im getting now with the gtx 260. it really depends on your setup, i will overclock my cpu to about 4.20 ghz. then after that i will update to a beta driver then run the game through a series of tests

What frame rate you getting 1680x1050? am stuck between a 260gtx and HD4870. if you could tell me it would be great also awesome video! :D

hey thanks, the GTX 260 would be the better buy reason being well its almost as fast as the gtx 260 only lacking 4 to 10 max fps behind depending on what resolution you use on crysis, from what i saw in some of the bench marks its really and truly an amazing card, you would only need the gtx 280 if you have a 32 inch screen. don't be fooled by the stream processors the 280 is equipt with 240 of them and the gtx 260 has 197 stream processors, here are then bench marks have a look

ok all i gotta say is if you want crysis and all the other games go with nivdia cause the programers of the games optimize their software for nividas hardware. so by saying that most of these games will run better on nivdas video cards, ATI their cards are faster but they run like crap with most games and they are cheaper then nivdia. but the new 4870 and the 4870 x2 versus the gtx 260-280, i would have to say its a tie, now what it comes down to is how much do you want to spend. get the 260.
