man that was a cool commercial, i was like 12 when that came out. havent seen it in a very long time. the 1970s and 80s had cool ads. lee van cleef was a real guy, i am so sick of those ashton kutcher commercials, he is such am untalented jerk !!!
where's old man McCreedy? anyone remember the midas commericial where the person asks " will that muffler fit my car" and the mechanic guy holding an over sized muffler says in a half crazy voice while hold a big hammer " I can make if fit"... lol
How funny. I actually met these two. George lived at Oxnard shores,I used to be his Culligan delivery man. He was so laid back. And Lee hung out at the Esplanade Mall in Oxnard Ca. Loved to shop at the Tinder Box for his tobacco needs. If you didnt mind his pipe smoke he would talk to you while he smoked.
Ha! What great TV spot! Got to admit, I've never seen this commercial before. With two powerful actors: Oscar winner George Kennedy and the late great Lee Van Cleef. THANKS so much for sharing it with us! You've MADE my day & my weekend!
'm also looking for the one where the hapless dude with the noisy muffler is at the red light and a rough-looking biker pulls up and says, "You're a menace to society!" Then the pretty blonde pulls up, smiles, gets his attention and says, "Your muffler -- fix it!"
I'm looking for the one that started out, "Ya mufflah....fix it!" Old broad, thick Brooklyn accent, driving a nice job, pulling up to the schmuck in a clunker. She says, "Ya Mufflah...take it to Midas."
Hey, God Bless 'em both for doing that gig! I'll bet when they got done filming, their whole crew went out and had a few drinks and a great dinner, and talked about all the incredible memories that only 2 legends like that can dredge up. This was totally cool. Thanks for posting. Joel in Tucson
I never knew that Mr. Van Cleef did that commercial or an other. That was a pure gas! I loved it ! ! ! I learned a bit more today about the man himself. Thank You for posting this slice of history. 70bonnie 4/9/9
Please please, someone post the original commercial, where the Van Cleef character was introduced. He comes in the night to apply for a Midas job: "hear you're hirin.." it started out. It was the best of the series.
Classic commercials the music is from a spaghetti western (can't remember the movie's name)and was also used on the video game Red Dead Revolver.....LVC was the man THX
Does anyone have this commercial on disc or vhs? I would be happy to buy a copy of it please. If you would be nice and share with me, please email me direct at garyoperator @ worldnet. att. net I just need your mailing info and how much you want for the commercial. I will add postage to your price. Thank you very much...Gary Willens 3450 Sawtelle Blvd. Apt. # 303 Los Angeles, California 90066-2991 Thank you again....Gary

John Philip Law did one too. Bo Hopkins also showed up in one as a kind of "Indiana Jones" type.

Hey, can you get the commercial of Robert Conrad with the Duracell Battery on his shoulder.
