Some French units gave up only on orders, after this armistice, in the Maginot line, for instance,where Germans failed to size many forts. And Many French units were still operational in French colonies. After this armistice, only half of France was occupied.Soviets lost 4 million prisoners until 1942. UK was saved, only because it's an island.

It's easy to blame the French for being weak, but actually the Netherlands, Poland, Denmark, Norway and even wide parts of Russia were defeated the very same way as France. Do you really think Great Britain could have resisted an attack on ground if it wasn't for their navy?
