  • THANKS! <3

  • Thats what i do too. People thought i was crazy. lmao

  • I heard using a very small amount of vasiline on large pored areas i.e... nose and chin... under your foundation can help reduce the look of your pores. Is this true also? Or would this just be for eyeshadow?

  • @ShyScott13 That works for some people but you have to be careful because if you use it on your chin it can cause breakouts.

  • I have very oily eyelids. Would vaseline work for me? BTW the "bye...". in the background was very cute.

  • @sahus100 Thanks! I have oily lids first. I usually use a powder foundation on them to absorb the oil first.

  • But doesn't Vaseline melt???

  • @Ariegiggles Actually you would be using a tiny amount that it wouldn't.

  • Okay--what am I doing wrong? I can't get it to blend with the vaseline!

  • @golexygo Oh no... I'm trying to think of what would cause that. How much of it are you using? Also, are you using plain vaseline or the vaseline intensive care? Plain vaseline in the tub works best.

  • Thank you soo much for this, what a great idea! I can't afford the good eye primers so i have been using my concealer as a primer, which works ok but after a while it creases. I tried my eyeshadow with your Vaseline base idea and it works AMAZING,.

  • @takeittothebass Thanks! I'm glad it worked for you!

  • AWESOME

  • @angelgirl12897 Thanks!

  • Very creative

  • @athenaburnett Thanks!

  • cool! i have alot of vaseline to use up! ho to remove it ?

  • @JasmineG96 Thanks! You just remove it the same way you remove your makeup. It will come right off.

  • I rarely use pigments because of the fall out but this is an awesome technique. Thank you I will experiment with it :]

  • @ChicChicksChick Thanks! I'm glad you found it helpful. Let me know how it works out for you.

  • Ahhh... so it's almos like using a gel liner or something as a base. :) I see, very cool. Costs a whole lot less than all the primers I'm sure.

  • Thanks! I'm glad it was helpful for you!

  • I had already sworn off of vaseline on the lid because it creased terribly, but clearly I was just using too much. Thanks for the vid, it was helpful :)

  • Thanks! I'm glad it was helpful. Yes, it's so easy to use too much. After you apply it run another finger over your lid - if you can feel the vaseline it's too much.

  • that is a very good idea. i never thought of that. i normaly use a creamy eyeshadow

  • Thanks. It works incredibly well.

  • wow that is a great idea i will try it oxo Danielle

  • I never thought about using vaseline! WOW

  • It works amazingly.

  • Oh wow, totally didn't know you could do that, or even remove your makeup with Vaseline! Wow. I totally love vaseline even more now! lol

  • Vaseline is a very amazing versitile product. I don't know what I'd do without it.

  • omg im so tyring this ive never tought of that i only use vaseline for my lashes so thry can grow longer... Thanks<3

  • Thanks! I'm glad it was helpful for you!

  • Oh my goodness, I love you! Ha. I do this trick too. I love vaseline. It's amazinggg.

  • Thanks! Vaseline can be used for so many things. It truly is amazing.

  • That is soo true. (: i just love it. haha.

  • Great idea why didnt we think of that years ago

  • Thanks! I'm glad you found it helpful!

  • cool fact!

  • Thanks!

  • thanks i gonna try it out

  • Thanks! Let me know how it works out for you!

  • Actually, no. Women have used vaseline around their eyes for years. They've used it remove makeup, and as a wrinkle cream. It also makes an excellent base for eyeshadow - it makes the colors pop and they hold on all day. It also helps prevent fallout.

The guy who invented vaseline actually used to eat a Tbsp. of it daily and he lived to be 112 or something like that.

  • Thanks! Yes, it holds cake eyeshadow on all day too.

  • thanks! this is verry helpful. going to use vaseline now.

  • Thanks! I'm glad it was helpful for you!

  • loving it

  • Thanks!

  • good to know before I start using pigments! Thanks for sharing!

  • I'm so glad it was helpful for you!

  • This is one of my new favorite things to use a base! :)

  • It works great!

  • What a great idea. I am going to try this, seems to me it may get to warm on me and smear. I will try it out, my curiosity is peaked. Thanks

  • It doesn't get too warm on me and smear...just remember to use the teeniest tiniest amount. If you can feel it, then there is too much.

  • I never thought of using vaeline. haha Thanks :)

  • Thanks! It works great as a base actually.

  • That's interesting, I would've thought that Vaseline is too tacky to be worn on the eye b/c it'd crease, I shall try this some time when I get loose powder shadow :)

  • It works really good, but you can only use a teeny tiny amount. If you use too much it will crease.

  • i always try this and it never worked NOW IT DOES THX :)

  • Thanks! I'm glad it was helpful!

  • Vaseline, I would've never thought of that!

  • It works great to hold loose shadows.

  • great tip i do this all the time now!!!!

  • Thanks! I do it all the time too!

  • i tried doing this before but I think because I used too much it creased my shadow! but thank you for the tip nonetheless :)

  • If it creased, you definitely used too much. It needs to be just the teenest tiniest amount.

  • Great beauty tip~! I did not know this~

  • Thanks! I'm glad it was helpful!

  • a tip try with cheap eyeshadows and try to mix the colour wit looks sick!

  • Thanks!

  • omg so trying this xx

  • It works great!

  • i've tried this to use it with like eye shadows to make it into eye liner... it works great!

  • I've never used it for eyeliner but it sounds great!

  • Thanks for the tip!

  • Thanks!

  • great tip, ill try this!

  • Thanks!

  • Awesome tip! I am going to try this. I am about to do a mineral eye shadow tutorial this weekend. Hope to remember to use this tip for it! I'll credit you of course. :)

  • do you 1st apply a primer then vaseline?

  • I apply my foundation on my eyelid first and then the vaseline.

  • Thank you for the 411 stay fabulous and God bless you

  • Thanks!

  • OMG...I was just thinking about you and said to myself let me send her a message and see what shes been up to, are you okay? I havent seen you in a while, I missed seeing you really. I have been MIA due to my vacation in NYC for the holidays then the move to Germany and getting settled into our new home.

  • Cookie! I've missed you so much! Did you have a good vacation in NYC? I didn't know you were moving to Germany - that's pretty exciting!

  • @PrincessPinkcat

Hi Pinky...I am still settling in and studying for my international liscense which will enable me to drive in Germany and other European countries, its so much more complicated than the USA but Im glad becuase I havent driven in the snow in over 10 years! It is snowing here alot and oh my gosh its so beautiful, it looks like powdered sugar from the sky landed on these majestic looking trees! The view outside my living room is fascinating. How are you? I havent seen you.

  • Great tip! I have stayed away from pigments and loose shadows because of fall-out. I'll have to try this, because I have been wanting to order some Raving Beauty shadows! Thanks! ~ Toni

  • Toni, you'll love it seriously. The only way I apply pigments these days is with vaseline because it just stops the fallout - you get very little if any and it makes them so much easier to work with.

  • Sorry, I had to laugh re: the "Disclosure: I purchased the Vaseline used in this tutorial" part in the side bar. You're awesome. More videos!!!

  • lol... I figured I'd better put it in...lol

  • I've used Loreal Decreaser & now using TFSI which i still have alot left. I liked the Loreal better except when it seems it's empty you have to cut it in half and scoop it out to another container. That's what I hated about UD. Loreal is even better then UD to me. When I'll try the vaseline and if i like it, I'll use it when the TFSI is gone. Thanks for the tip. Seen in the comments you've been going thru a hard time. You'll be in my prayers.

  • your kids are cute XD

  • Thanks!

  • Thank you I will try it

  • Thanks! Let me know how it works out for you.

  • great tip Tracey! glad to see you back, my thoughts are with you and your family right now xx

  • Thanks! It's been a difficult time for us, but we're working our way through it.

  • That seems like a great idea! ^_^ Thanks!

  • Thanks!

  • thanks for the tip :)

    missed seeing videos from you!

  • Thanks! I'm glad to be back.

  • Do you still apply a base beforehand to decrease the likelihood of creasing?

  • I don't apply a base beforehand. I just apply my foundation as a primer.

  • This is so awesome! I use a LOT of loose powder shadows...and I hate the fallout, and how easily it wears off in the day. I am DEFINITELY going to try it! :)

  • Thanks! This will definitely hold your loose shadows on all day long and into the evening. When you use it you will have very little fallout if any, so it actually helps prevent wasted product.

  • That is SO awesome to know! :) Also, I wanted you to know that you and your family have been in my thoughts. I'm sending my love to you guys! *hugs* Take care, I too, have missed your videos...it's good to see you back! Take care hun.

  • Thanks JennyJoe! That really means a lot to me. It's been a difficult time for my family, but we're getting through it one day at a time.

  • I can totally relate. *hugs* all you can do is take it all one day at a time! I'm thinking of you and yours hun!

  • Thanks for the info...☺

  • You're very welcome. I hope it was helpful.

  • Great video girly! Loving the nail color, what brand and name was it?

  • Thanks! It was a limited edition from NYC (New York Color). I'm not sure if you can still buy it. The name of the colour is either molten metal or gunmetal. I'm not sure which and the color label is worn off.

  • WHAT A BRILLANT IDEA!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for making this vid ^_^

  • Thanks! I'm really glad you liked it.

  • CHAPSTICK WORKS BEST AS A BASE AS WELL! I JUST RUB MINE ON THE LIDS.....DON'T put too much as she said!

after applying chapstick....use finger to take off excess and works great for any base not just for loose pigment...works even for eyeshadows in pots

  • The vaseline works for shadows in pots as well, but I find when I used it for shadows in pots they don't blend as well as when I use it for loose eyeshadows. I have tried the chapstick method for applying loose eyeshadows but I find it doesn't work as well as the vaseline for me. It might for other people though.

  • i haven't tried using vaseline for eyeshadows...but surely will! thanks for the great tip! this video was very informative, and usefuL!

  • Thanks! I'm glad it was helpful.

  • Thanks for very good tip.

  • Thanks! I'm really glad you liked it!

    Thank you for this information.

I will definitely try it sometime:)

  • try chapstick! tat works great as well

  • OH AWESOME:)

    THANK YOU SO MUCHHH!

  • I've used chapstick, but I find it doesn't work as well as the vaseline. It is a good method too though.

  • Thanks! I'm really glad you liked it!

  • wow thank u princesspinkcat that was so helpful and if really works=) thanks again be blessed ill use this in one of my vids thanks again

  • Thanks! It really does work amazingly. It's the only way I apply pigments any more. You wind up with very little fallout if any - so you don't waste product.
