How do you have both Maschine and Reaper open and running at once? Whenever I do it, it crashes one or the other? You hinted at using 2 interfaces, is this to keep the audio separated? ie, running Maschine from your internal sound card and Reaper from the external? Do you notice any inferior sound quality doing it this way?

Great vid(s) keep up the good one, you're my go-to guy for work flow ideas to get rolling, you're doing exactly what I want to do with the exact same software. Cheers.

@WordclockXIII back when I did this video I had one external interface and my internal one, now just have an audio interface that is multiclient, which is what I suggest

hey st.joe i had a question. is there a way we can organize and structure a whole song on maschine. if so can you do a tutorial or explain how ?? cuz right now im only making patterns, im not sure how to structure it out to make a full song.

@dblackinf not sure, I don't use cubase, it would be the same as triggering sounds from cubase with an external sequencer like and mpc, mv, etc.

Can you use the MACHINE box like a keyboard? Instead of having to buy both?

@dillinjabreakz it sends midi like any other controller, by design it's not a keyboard but if you want to use it to play melodic stuff you can, most find a keyboard much more flexible for keyboard parts. But it can be used as a regular midi controller that sends the normal midi notes so I suppose you can use it that way if you wish.

@JUKETASTRAFE3 search your pc or mac for the updated version of maschine. somtimes when u do the update it creates 2 versions of maschine so u will have one old version 1.0.1 version or somthing clik file then info in maschine in the upper left corner of that window if it says 1.5.0 R... then u know you have it right. it will work trust me

@JUKETASTRAFE3 look in the file menu in maschine clik info look in the upper left corner of the box when u clik info. if it says 1.5.0 r. .. when your running the new version if it says like 1.0.3 . .. then your not running the new version. check your pc to be sure u dont have 2 versions of maschine.

@JUKETASTRAFE3 make sure your on the sound tab and not the group tab, midi out is for each sound in a group, so you make the change to the sound not the group.

hey on my src menu i dont get the midi out option what am i doing wrong ? do i have to change somthing to get this option ? i am running the latest version of maschine 1.5.0 version with the controller update as well. i also make sure i have the midi out options on maschine turned on. any ideas what im doing wrong?

@CWaldo428 no there is nothing you have to do, it should show up on each sound slot, right there with sampler

@caliphono well I just made a loop on the controller, but you can do it using virtual midi so no cables needed. You on osx I think maschine has a virtual midi, you need to change the channels in maschine as well as in ableton for each channel you want to trigger on

hahahaha, well, Reaper is free to try, but it's only 60 bucks for a license for most of us, as long as you make less than 20K per year from your music lol.

I was going to try the virtual midi cable too just to see, but I have some dope ideas.

I'm going to try to use ReaRoute to route maschine's audio into reaper so I can track it all out together!

Nah, I pres play everything is in synch, I hit a pad...sounds come out, I play the keys, my vsts speak sweet nothing in my ears...

it's wonderful lol. I'm going to try it with a virtual midi cable too and see how that works. Midi Yoke is the one I will try as well as LoopBe
