Living in Detroit my whole life, I can say that Detoit has big problems. There are no longer any major companies still inside of the city limits. GM is the only one really left, besides the others in the downtown area. sorry to say, but I see businesses open and close all the time. Mom and Pop stores start off, then shut off in 3 months. No one would dare start a business there.

Aside from those who signed up but never showed, more than 2/3 started but failed to complete the program. Of those who did, only 45% had jobs within 3 years of completion, and only 15% found jobs in the field they had been trained for.

At a cost of $25k per person, in the 60s. More than a college education, with a success rate of less than 5%.
