  • 5:13 eargasm :O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMAZING

  • The one person that disliked this song is clearly A fkkn Dumbass with a capital "D"

  • The one person that disliked this song is clearly fkkn dumbass!!!!!

  • I think the fuck up was because they were cutting the song down due to time...so they may have forget where to come in...and plus it was a new song at the time.

  • Why has the guitar tone got worse since the 1996 Jools videos?

  • Haha the band afterwards must have felt like shit

  • Kirk fucked up then james was like FUCK and came in off time because...the train keeps a rollin.

  • @stripes5150 This was a pretty awesome recovery. If you didn't know the song you'd never know he'd messed up.

  • When Hetfields hair gets loose he really looks like a Nazi haha XD, he can cut his hair however he wants he'll always be badass in someway, not that I consider Nazi's badass... So he's just badass. I guess?? (god damnit XD)

  • who cares about a half second gap between the 2 guitarists.... i wouldnt have noticed personally but ur all bitching about it and the fact is it didnt affect the sound of the song and hey lets face it.... it goes to show... even the best mess up a little every now n again!

  • i must have been paying more attention to kirk I guess

  • Kirk starts riff too early, they also messed up in enter sandman here, too bad, especially on tv

  • @Miles12327 actually it was james here

  • It was Kirk who came in later, if you look at their hand motions . at @1:50

  • @williamtrevormcneil Yeah we heard that one ages ago, infact in 2008 when I first uploaded these videos....it's getting a bit old now mate ;)

  • @williamtrevormcneil sounded awesome to me.

  • @williamtrevormcneil OH MY GOD who the fuck cares?

    its METALLICA!!

  • @williamtrevormcneil If you look closley it was obviously Kirk. lol

  • @williamtrevormcneil its due to having a time limit for their preformence they do it on the day that never comes too.

  • @williamtrevormcneil VERY quick recovery though, inferior bands would have stopped.

  • @williamtrevormcneil its james. his guitars always on the left speaker >.<

  • @williamtrevormcneil does anyone actually care :L they're not immune to mistakes they're just people..

  • 2:30

    lol

  • love the black truckster.....

  • love robs animated playing

  • I agree with AMisfitsLyric

He could do a lot more...

legacy, everyone has their own opinions... some people are old school, some are new school.

I happen to think that amisfitslyric is looking at things in a more open-sense. Maybe instead of thinking just because you are old, you are wise, you should look at what he sees and try to understand it.

He might have something that you could learn from

  • You think that age and experience should embrace the opinions of the young and inexperienced.........?

Where do you go when you want to learn ?

Perhaps I should find an arrogant little five year old for you. He could critique your skills and, by your own philosophy, you would have to comply.

  • Yeah, man. I'm not having a go at you or anything, but being experienced doesnt exactly mean one may know everything about it.

I've been playing for almost 7 years, I have diversity, stage experience, and I've also recorded. I'm not the best drummer in the world, but I'm not as inexperienced as you may assume.

    Young doesnt always equal ignorant.

  • Cant teach an old dog a new trick...

  • I have no need in it.

I dont think I'm better than anyone, unlike yourself, "knocking fifty years old" insulting people and provoking pointless word exchanges over the internet, and I'm being rude? It's like using up the ammunition and planting the weapon. Hypocrisy at it's finest.

I simply stated my opinion, not criticism, which is what the comment box is for, and it didnt match yours, so you got self righteous like all the other trash youtube users.

    You're "knocking at fifty"?

    Act like it.

  • my rate: 5 stars for this performance. awesome!!

    \m/ !!!

  • Lars got lazy.

  • Eh?

  • He used to be creative on the fills, even on Load and Reload, but he's riding the snare too much, imo.

  • Riding the snare ....?

    You are full of shit.

  • Pay attention. He used to be creative with the way he plays, now all his rolls begin, continue and end with snare, he's got toms up there and he ignores them unless he wrote them in there, i.e. the intro to Enter Sandman. I would have chosen an older song, but you would assume I'm one of those "omfg u only liek old skool Tallica" jackoffs.

  • YOU should pay attention ! Lars is one of the most creative drummers on this planet.

I reckon he was going for maximum attack with his snare, and THIS is a fine example of his work. He drives this track along with power, plenty of attack AND superb creative fills. I don't know what makes you think that you're qualified to criticise Lars, you should be listening and learning.

Maybe Lars is right, and YOU'RE wrong.

    My money's on Lars.

  • Fyi, when you point a finger, you have three pointing back at you.

    ..but to the point.

All I'm saying is he quit playing brilliant fills, as in Battery, and if you want prime example of his exquisite drumming, listen to the Justice album. I didnt say it wasnt great, I didnt say it wasnt exceptional, but the dude's not trying as hard as he used to. I know I'm wasting my time talkin to a Lars Ulrich fan boy, I know, I used to be one, but wake up. He could do something with the rest of his kit.

  • It 'aint the amount of fingers that count, boy. It.s what's behind those fingers. I.m knocking fifty years old and I started my first band in 1978.

Now you know what.s behind this particular finger, don't you !

  • Then it's very immature of you to start high school-esque drama with someone that's 29 years younger than you are over the internet.

    Nice high horse.

  • Yep... And one that you'll never ride !

For all I care, you can remain up you're own arse, and never improve your drumming.

You started this with your stupid, infantile critique.

You are a very rude and disrespectful young man.

  • You're pathetic man...

  • If you were a grown up, I might have been insulted by that.

Come back when you're a bit bigger, and found your balls.

  • Well you're really mature... I don't argue with middle age bum....

  • You can call me Sir.

  • hahahaaa you old crupms

  • goes to show you even veterans make mistakes on stage. we all come in a little early in our lives haha.

  • ouch 1:52 ouch

  • hahahaaaaaaaaaaa

James is humping the drums at 4:52

  • duuuude james so totally fucked up, u could tell by his face, he was like damn

  • Give me thumbs up if you think Lars Ulrich is the best drummer ever.

  • how? i actually feel sorry for Trujillo for having to try and play to him.

  • @s4dman Lars is fuckin' awesome no doubt but the greatest drummer in the world is Slipknot's Joey Jordison. That guy is off the motherfucking hook! Metallica still the greatest band in the world though. METAL UP YOUR ASS!!!

  • @iwtmltyb

there are waay better drummers than joey jordison, Dave Grohl and Dale Crover are two that spring to mind already

meh, at the end of the day its only an opinion

  • @s4dman Poor bloke gets a lot of stick.

  • @s4dman Man I love metallica but almost any drummer would agree that he is not :S

  • rob is the most badass bassist i've ever seen

  • He's so good

  • @nmillwater33 Cliff was better.

  • @eiffel0108 yeah i agree but rob is still badass

  • @nmillwater33 Yeah, I'll give him that

  • 3.02 - 3.23

    is awesome!

  • James fucks up at 1:52 hahahahaha

  • damn that was a big fuck up there lol

  • james hetfield sounds like he caught a cold!

  • I think for gigs and shows liek this one he doesnt do as much warm ups as he would for a bigger show but idk.

  • Actually Kirk came in late. Listen to the record version. After the chorus and bass part, the guitars kick in almost immediately unlike the beginning. Either way great tune and great record.

  • you are right though... but it is james who comes in to early. count it. on the record the band plays in at 1..2..3..4.. GO.

Here james goes at 1..2.. GO. so he fucked up :] still fun.

  • james came in early on the riff

you can tell they not using the tourin pa rig lol

the guitars sound fuzzy on parts but they still sound mint gives it a thicker feel

  • good performance, i love this song

  • Excellent stuff. Great to see the other bands jiving along. Plus it seems the band themselves are really enjoying it too.

Cool episode. Liked most of the stuff on it.

  • Rob is as tight like an ants ass

  • It seems like Metallica is really starting to feel this new material! In the live set, that is.

  • metallica rules

  • well done lads

    top dog early riff aside

  • pretty good version. Poor James again because of his sore throat like in 1996 year

  • At 1:51 who came in early on the riff?

  • it was james. lol

  • james hetfield...

  • Excellent, thanks for puttin' it up man!
