Maurice Vachon a great canadian wrestling legend probably honestly volunteered for this, such an amazing match, such an amazing ending. Nash and HBK were so authentic in this match, you absolutely have to love vince's commentary, guy should have just stayed commentating to this day, he's a legend too. I am 23 years old and wrestling is such a guilty pleasure. lol! MAD DOG!
Before I clicked this, the thumbnail looked to show Diesel on the canvas, with Jenny McCarthy standing in the ring (I thought it was something I missed from their Wrestlemania match) but that thumbnail was not a part of this at all.
This match is a one I like to watch every so often. It's pretty damn brutal and this was still a while before Attitude. The jacknife through the table and the choke over the top rope are both awesome, yet pretty sickening!
Haha listen to the "Diesel" chants!!!! Diesel/Keven Nash was always better looking then Shawn Michaels. He was always sexier too, and you ladies know that!! Heck i'm a guy and I KNOW THAT!!!!! and am not afraid to admit it. Because I wouldn't dare admit something like this (being heterosexual/straight) if I didn't know that it was true. Kevin Nash here is Tall Dark and Handsom, Shawn Michaels, Isn't!! nuff said!! By the way how dare Shawn Michaels mock Hulk Hogan after the match!!!!
haahahaha Nash smashing hbk out of the ring at 1:29, too bad Vince had such a hard on for shawn and always allowed him to win matches by kicking the air infront of his opponents. This was Diesel's last match in wwf I believe.
This was a great match!!! But the biggest BS for me was that Razor Ramon/Scott Hall never got to hold the WWF Title while HBK was getting to back to back!!
I think this match is on Shawn Michaels "From the Vault" , on a promo for it you can hear Vince saying "We said No Holds Barred, but we didn't expect this"
@TheJMH1992 I know I mean what the fuck was that guys problem. I know he is different now, He is Christian and I am also Christian. Back then we neither were really, but that pissed me off when he mocked Hulk Hogan!! I mean no respect and hate against Shawn Michaels, but I mean how disrespectful that was of Shawn. In real life, at their prime, Hulk Hogan would destroy Shawn Michaels!!
@2424john Dude this is how I see it. If ANYBODY knew about the nWo premise in the WWE it was HBK. Since Hogan was already in WCW and Hall soon following, you wouldn't think the Kliq had a plan since the Curtain Call? Hall and Nash came in together and with help of Hogan, nWo made the biggest impact in 90s wrestling til Shawn and Levesque caught up and created D-Generation X and with Stone Cold's emerging image they rivaled then later topped WCW's success. The KLIQ started the Monday Night Wars!
@AnttheCaesar Yea, and I found it great how the entire Kliq paid hommage to each other in several ways to let each other know their not forgotten about even though their on opposite TV shows....like if the wolfpac/NWO and DX did simaliar things.....
@NiceT86 DX known for crotch chop...if u pay attention nash and Hall and Syxx was crotchin choppin too...and the NWO was Black and white......why was only 3 member wearing black and red sayin their the wolfpac.nash, hall and syxx..the kliq..and how HHH was doin the wolfpac signature salute with his hand.
@AnttheCaesar Eric Bischoff said that he had planned out the N.W.O 8 months to a year before it actually happened, so that would make it in 1995 before the KLIQ or anyone else had any idea about it.
@xhemexx That you could, HBK and The Kliq were all assholes back then, lying and using politics to get what they wanted, especially once Nash and Hall went to WCW.
This was a very great match one of those "I will neevr forget" matches. I am surprise how this match is not that talked about that much today. This had everything, shock value, emotions, action, hard core innovation, solid wrestling and great crowd reaction (which is very influential in making a match more excited for the people watching at home)
You dont have matches like this anymore. Especially when it comes to the psychology aspect of it.

Whenever I think "All Time Great Heel Spot" I keep coming back to Nash ripping off Mad Dog's prosthetic leg to use as a weapon.
Seriously, it doesn't get more "heel" than slapping around a middle aged man, in the audience, no less, and then ripping his prosthetic leg off to use as a weapon.
This match has always been one of my favorites. Shawn was at his height as an athlete, and Diesel played his role great.
I remember seeing this on PPV and thinking the WWF had just entered a new realm . That jackknife through the table was one of the most shocking moments I had seen. WWF wrestlers weren't pulling those stunts then.
This was a fun match, but I don't know why Vince would put Kevin Nash in a PPV main event even though he was to leave for WCW within days. Prolly coz he needed someone to put Shawn over. Anyway, good conclusion to the 2 year Shawn-Diesel saga.
I'd say this is one of the best matcfhes in the Fed's history. Great storytelling and creative violence with the little guy surviving and beating the giant.
Awesome! This was actually the first time that HBK "tunes up the band" before hitting Sweet Chin Music. I love how the crowd went along with him when he started stomping his foot againt the canvas. X3
Aha, I don't watch WWE anymore but this is exactly why HBK was the greatest... obviously it's all written out who wins and stuff, but Michaels did it in such an exciting way, great charisma and a brilliant character, not simply some guy on steroids like the people in it today :)
And you can see how genuinely gripped the crowd were by their reaction at the end, this was REAL entertainment. Michaels carried the WWF from 96-98 like no-one has ever done during any other era.
every word in stone. buy he was a huge star before 96, his first ladder match with razor ramon was in 95 i think, and in the same year he won the royal rumble although he was drawn first. his tag matches with diesel were always awesome as well
Wtf happened to wrestling? This match is awesome, as is every match I see and remember as a kid from before 2000. I try to get back in to wrestling since about 2001, and it wasn't the same any of the times, and I can't really pinpoint why these past 8 years wrestling sucked, but it does. Wrestling used to be so thrilling. I don't know what happened!
Wrestling from Wrestlemania 2003 but then fell off big time and took a nose dive after eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit lost their respective Worlds title in 2004.
