Interesting, the game is fun to play but don't quite shine, i would say its a RPG RTS mashup falling more to the rpg side. I don't know why but it kinda feels like magesty... with a bit more budget they the game would go from great to awesome

the one on the left can be minimized when ur not using it, which is not that often. Without that 1 it has just as many menu bars as any other rpg of this style

Excellent game. The music and sound is fantastic, the music brings back old memories of Warcraft 2. The troll battle roars in Hinterlands mirror the Orc Dragon screeches in warcraft 2 exactly. (Although I'm not sure why a Troll would sound that way)

Yes very good but not to big.I like rpg games like this..not like Oblivion and Titan Quest or Diablo...i like the old rpg games with level up..option...do you anderstand....? do you know something like that ?

Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2. Grab the compliation packs of Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, those are great. If you want true old school check out Drakensang. Divine Divinity falls into the Diablo category but its a kick ass game. I'm still liking Sacred II lately but not what your after, the above is.

This game is SO damn addictive, true it's not got much too it, but it's got what it needs

The "mercs" as one of the previous posters put it are the inhabitants of your village, you can outfit them and tell them to stop working and come adventuring with you if you need the help

I originally downloaded this, then paid my £14 on Steam because it was so good, totally worth it

Its a low budget game. When i complete the game I started to think. There is nothing to do. Just take all land and complete it. The king says GZ and it ends. Lack of items and task.

The general concensus is that Hinterland is a whole lot of game for $20, but I'm inclined to agree from the looks of it.

However, it seems to me that the depth of the questing portion could have used more work. Click to kill or drink potions does not a compelling RPG make - your choice of companions spice things up a bit, at least.

The jury is still out here about whether or not I'll buy it. If I'm deep into the city building aspect, that looks to be covered.

The fact he's got what looks like Mercs is similar.

The fact the 'mercs' carry polearms is similar.

The fact he can heal his 'mercs' by dropping pots on them...

The music is similar...

The inventory bar at the bottom...

There's a lot of it, by glance, that is similar.

D3 is going to kick all their asses though!
