My understanding is that corporate taxes are paid out of corporate profit. If a company doesn't make a profit, there's no corp. tax. So, it's not the same kind of expense that NEEDS to be "passed along" to consumers.
Corporations do not pay taxes, people do. Business can not stand without profits. To pay for a tax increase they must reduce benefits or increase prices. When someone raises taxes on busines we all pay for it. Redistribution of wealth does not work, (it is called socialism), I know because I was born and raised in Cuba.

Obama says he is going to lower taxes (ONLY income tax) for the poor & middle class, which would equate to a few hundred $'s in savings based on their income levels, BUT he is going to raise every other tax on ALL AMERICANS like doubling the Capital Gains tax to 28%, a 39.6% Dividends tax, a 55% Estate tax, a 10.6% raise in Payroll tax, pledges to tax business & to leave the Corporate tax at 39.3%. I believe that Obama wants to increase the dividend tax from 15% to 25%, and eliminate the $100K cap on payroll tax (i.e. you're currently ony taxed on the first $100K you make). One thing is clear, Earned income will be combined (Husband plus wife's income) in households to reach that (only the wealthy pay figure of $121 K) figure taking your 90% figure way down. Thus making Obama's tax policies another attack on the family. Also, ALL people will be affected by obama's policies to raise capital gains taxes and taxes on dividend income.

"tpott" don't forget dividend income. There are 18 Million "S" corp businesses in the USA that will pay 28 to 30% on dividend income vs 15% paid now or under the McCain plan. This stream of "new" Obama tax revenue will be taken from all businesses whether they are start ups, medium or large corps. This will lead to less money for small and medium companies to pay wages to people and to reinvest into their companies. Large corps will move their HQ to better tax regions in other countries.
Taxes for people earning under 112K would actually pay less income tax under Obama's proposals than under McCain's. I think the difference between the two would actually offset any raise in the capital gains tax.

If you sell a house, condo, car, coin etc at a profit, those profits will be taxed at approx 30% under obama's plan, 15 % currently or under McCain's plan. This affects anyone that has a profit on anything, not just people that make over $200,000, which is classified as earned income, not capital gains.
Taxing companies more makes everything cost more, hurts the stock market which hurts retirement plans. Higher expenses will outweigh lower taxes under the Obama plan. Obama is bad for the economy which is bad for the family budget.

It should be noted the previous administration made vast inroads in trading with China. Clinton's sale of America has place our nation's economy in jeopardy by integrating it with China. The Dems make much noise over its 'looking out for the little guy' but dropped the ball on this one. Many plants closed with increased imports from China during the 1990s.

This is fair as the very wealth don't pay their fair share, they only pay social security on the first $62K in their annual income. What good are tax cuts when conservatives spend just as much, and take out loans or print more money to cover costs? This is inflationary fiscal policy, part of the reason the dollar has depreciated 60% against the Euro.

You don't seem to understand basic economics. Even IF this man's federal income tax rate wouldn't go up under President Obama (which it probably will anyway considering legislation he supported in the past), he (like everyone else) is still affected by it. That is $ that would have been spent on goods and services that is gone. Duh. Obama also supports higher taxes on gas. These would apply to both producers (see "Windfall Profits Tax") and consumers (he wants to raise the federal gas tax).

One thing is clear, Earned income will be combined (Husband plus wife's income) in households to reach that (only the wealthy pay figure of $121 K) figure taking your 90% figure way down. Thus making Obama's tax policies another attack on the family. Also, ALL people will be affected by obama's policies to raise capital gains taxes and taxes on dividend income.

"tpott" don't forget dividend income. There are 18 Million "S" corp businesses in the USA that will pay 28 to 30% on dividend income vs 15% paid now or under the McCain plan. This stream of "new" Obama tax revenue will be taken from all businesses whether they are start ups, medium or large corps. This will lead to less money for small and medium companies to pay wages to people and to reinvest into their companies. Large corps will move their HQ to better tax regions in other countries.

If you sell a house, condo, car, coin etc at a profit, those profits will be taxed at approx 30% under obama's plan, 15 % currently or under McCain's plan. This affects anyone that has a profit on anything, not just people that make over $200,000, which is classified as earned income, not capital gains.

Most americans don't make over $200,000 a year. By taxing only the ones who do, they won't make nearly enough from taxes to support universal healthcare unless they cut the wages on doctors diminishing the amount who make over 200k even further.

The Congress has a worse approval rating than Bush for a reason. The problem is the size of our government. It has caused too much red tape for anything to be accomplished. China is sitting on over $1 trillion in U.S. securities as a result of the USA becoming a debtor nation to them. Oil is traded in dollars, and since the dollar is in the toilet, it cost a lot more for oil. Remember how much it was in 2000 before Bush undid all of Clinton's work? Republicans like to pass costs on to future generations, unfortunately we're paying for some of their irresponsible fiscal policy now.

It should be noted the previous administration made vast inroads in trading with China. Clinton's sale of America has place our nation's economy in jeopardy by integrating it with China. The Dems make much noise over its 'looking out for the little guy' but dropped the ball on this one. Many plants closed with increased imports from China during the 1990s.

I know exactly what I'm talking about, and Obama will not increase taxes for individuals making less than $250K per year. This is fair as the very wealth don't pay their fair share, they only pay social security on the first $62K in their annual income. What good are tax cuts when conservatives spend just as much, and take out loans or print more money to cover costs? This is inflationary fiscal policy, part of the reason the dollar has depreciated 60% against the Euro.

You don't seem to understand basic economics. Even IF this man's federal income tax rate wouldn't go up under President Obama (which it probably will anyway considering legislation he supported in the past), he (like everyone else) is still affected by it. That is $ that would have been spent on goods and services that is gone. Duh. Obama also supports higher taxes on gas. These would apply to both producers (see "Windfall Profits Tax") and consumers (he wants to raise the federal gas tax).
