I've been making videos with this camera (my supernote video, for example), but the auto focus really bugs me, going blurry when I step out of shot. Thank you for this video.
Thanks a lot for the video. I would like to know the camera settings or configuration you used on this manual focus example or which settings you recommend for jewelry macro close ups.

If you are considering the Sony HX-1 or Canon SX1 IS, you should also consider the Casio EX-F1 because it has a focus ring around the lens, a external mic jack, a hot shoe, a threaded lens for UV filters, and slow motion (if you want a fun bonus). Hard to believe it's from Casio. The problem is the price.
please post more on how and where to use the manual mode, P mode, Tv and Av modes.. thanks... I had one already and i want to take good shots using these modes....
Yeah I have this cam and the SX110 IS as well and the wheel on the SX10 drives me NUTS. The wheel on the 110 is brilliant as it has little stop points so you can feel when it has turned 1-stop, 2-stops etc.
Takes excellent pictures of the moon. I mean pro quality. But in the daylight outdoors my 8 megapixel Kodak 875 and my kodak 3 megapixel 4330 takes crisper clearer pictures. The Kodak colors are more vibrant and the background is clearer. I love the canon but wish it would take as good a picture outdoors as my Kodaks. Can't beat the Kodak color science chip.
i mostly want to get it for sunsets and clouds , would it be good ? would i be able to take close ups of the moon ? because ive seen a video for the lumix fz28 and it managed to do so

Canon obviously flopped here with the amount of spinning needed on that wheel. Sigh.

Yes, you can. The SX10 IS's zoom range can reach the moon for a close-up.
