It really doesn't matter if you don't add the b9s and 6ths and what have you. They're just colour tones which the pianio or guitar play might or might not add at their discrection.

Well, you really don't have to. I mean I don't always play the right notes of the chord I sometimes play A right before I hit Ab. You know what I mean? I'm still learning, though.
