I just got this camera a while back. Now im not comfortable taking photos via the view finder as I can only see the image Im gonna shoot through that since is the LCD is all black and, can someone help me how do I set it to see the image im gonna click via the viewfinder and the LCD? Help me here. Somebody!
@evilshreyas you cant view via viewfinder and LCD at the same time. that's because in order to view on the LCD, the mirror must be locked up, and covering the viewfinder.

As an experienced director / cinematographer with 6 full length features under my belt, I'm amazed at the images I was able to get out of this cheap camera (Canon 60D) I shot a music video with it and I must say this start up camera is fucking awesome!!

Basically 18-200 lens can cover almost everything. Now I may need portrait lens. It cost around 100$ only. then you will be perfect camera man (if you are amateur).
Oh! get one of wireless flash if you can (there are some other brand in the market which is more cheaper then Canon).
@MrMartianMartin Depens on what you need. I personally am gonna get the 60D with the Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 OS. It's alot better than the kit lens. It covers wideangle to normal - so no zooming in close, though. Canon has a similar lens, the 17-55mm, but it's alot pricier and has issues with it's IS (Image Stabilizer) and with dust creeping inside the lens.
Does someone know how to make the 'toy camera' effect on photoshop? The 'retro'/hipstamic effect that makes it look like it was shot in a film camera....

The screen is useful at various angles and in bright outdoor light. Though Canon should come out with something to compete with the red / scarlet / epic, which would be good for buyers. This ad seems to focus on the photography aspect. How about a dslr that is all about movie-making, with in camera stabilization, better audio, true slo-mo. I shot a video test at a local store on an SDHC calss 4 card. It played choppy on my Quad 620 PC with 6gig memory. I shot it at 1080/24p. What could have caused the vido to play choppy?

@renzo351 what are you on about ? the 60D has a flip screen, think about the high and low shots, its more rugged, has a top lcd read out, a mode lock,and is weather sealed, you have no idea what you are talking about.
I am able to take excellent pictures with my A650 IS. A photographer friend of mine recommended that I upgrade to the Canon Rebel. I held off on the upgrade b/c I can't do without the articulating screen. Now the 60D comes out with an articulating screen and it is quite costly. I really feel the need to upgrade. Why does this have to be so expensive?

Do you want video? That feature adds weight and the camera is already very heavy over the 450d. I had the 450d and went to the 50d. I will not be getting the 60 and price is not the reason.
But if you do NOT have the money then why not considering buying a second hand Canon 450/500/550D? These entry level , as the name suggested, is for you, newcomer! , In this way, you can really learn to use your DSLR
and one day you might find yourself no longer like photography and you won't loss that much money by buying an entry level camera!
Please consider the fact that photography ISN'T for everyone.. so know it
I'm not really a big fan of this camera; it doesn't have much to offer and I really dislike how they slapped on the metering from the t2i on here. It seems like this camera was seriously crippled by Canon as to not interfere with their 7D. They should have just made the 7D the new 60D...
@Tennishead39 Not really, the 60D has some advantages over the 7D and visa versa. The appeal for me would be the articulating screen and the SD card storage. The 7d is just about a better camera but the screen and the storage swing it in favour of the 60d for me. The point is you will not be disappointed which ever one you buy as they are both great cameras...
@AlexPanacro no matter how long you wait, there will always be something around the corner, just enjoy your fantastic cam which has a longer shutter life than the 60d's 100,000 cycles.

Nice, but a few comments! As a 550d owner I personally don't see a market for this camera between the 550d and 7d. Maybe im biased because I think the 550d is one of the best cameras on the market today! The filters idea is cool but really I would prefer to add them in photoshop because then I have an original!

Balls. Bought a 50d in June for the same price which I can now get a 60d. Balls... And why does the swiwel screen come so late, I already scratched the living daylight out of my 50d's lcd screen when rolling with multiple cameras around my neck. Well then, atleast its cheap to fix(not).
sony a55 and a33 will be competing on the entry/consumer level and for sure there will be prosumers that willing to take the alphas against the canon 60D...simple logic. PRICE
@fs304 I don't think so. The body is similar to a 550D unlike the magnesium alloy of the 50D. I would take this as a downgrade from the 50D and an upgrade to the 550D.
It's fun, every feature advertised in this video is better on a EVIL than on a DSLR. Canon know than people want something different than a DSLR today.
but if you are looking into portable affordable same quality pictures and hd recording.. then you should go for the canon sx210is. has great image quality and great video recording aswell..

Would you recommend me getting the Canon powershot SD1400( or Canon ixus 130 as it is known in UK) As a portable, cheap, good quality camera.. Its is £175 ish on amazon.. I might be alone on this one, but the flip out screen makes the entire camera feel more cheap and plasticy. And as far as i know, this is being made to most part in engineering plastic and not magnesium alloy, so the build quality is lacking aswell. The only upgrade from the 50D for me would be the movie mode, but i'd much rather spend a couple of hundred bucks more and get the 7D.
The bottom line is: cheaper camera: more sales. You will see it when their time ends (meaning when 7D is gone and 60D is gone).
Most pro and semipro users dont realize the fact: if a camera costs like 7D, or 5D and 1D it doesnt sell much, even though it is really good and has EVERYTHING. I bet Canon's most selling DSLR is 1000D at the moment. The most sold DSLR camera is propably the 450D.
60D may replacing 50D in numbers, but the camera is like 7D was: not replacing anything.
When I heard that the 60D was coming out, i was so excited, but seeing it now. i really think they didnt do a very good job, i mean. just the fact that its plastic instead of magnesium-alloy is making me sad.. Lol. i'm now trying to decide.. This, 50D, or 550D????? please help me out.
@Tennishead39 the 60D isn't replacing the 50D just yet...if it were, why would it be the same price as the 50D. This has features from the 50D, t2i, and 7D all mixed up into one camera, with it's own new features, ever before seen in a Canon DSLR.
I got this and I love it,Hopefully get some other nicer lens latter but 18-135mm is ok for now.

@DavideoDesign i guess its not that big of a deal i mean i do use a tripod the majority of the time. still man STILL that articulating screen beats laying down on the ground trying to get that sweet upward angle when shooting video. its just that ONE thing i wanted. meh whatever as long as i have something high quality that records and can take decent quality pics thats all that matters when it all boils down.

Nice, but a few comments! As a 550d owner I personally don't see a market for this camera between the 550d and 7d. Maybe im biased because I think the 550d is one of the best cameras on the market today! The filters idea is cool but really I would prefer to add them in photoshop because then I have an original!
But still canon is a huge company and im sure they know what their doing!

le solite porcherie che usa fare canon.............che cazzo c'èntra mettere su una semiprofessionale il diplay che si muove, possibilità di poter cambiare intensita di colore, modificare foto.........questo dovrebbero farlo sui pezzi di plastica come la serie che va dalla 300d alla 550d.......così facevano la 600d e non rompevano
Ora vedremo cosa potra mai spuntare fuori magari una 5d mark3 che ti fa pure il caffè.....28mpx schermo orientabile e altre diavolerie impossibili da immaginare....

Balls. Bought a 50d in June for the same price which I can now get a 60d. Balls... And why does the swiwel screen come so late, I already scratched the living daylight out of my 50d's lcd screen when rolling with multiple cameras around my neck. Well then, atleast its cheap to fix(not).

@fs304 I don't think so. The body is similar to a 550D unlike the magnesium alloy of the 50D. I would take this as a downgrade from the 50D and an upgrade to the 550D.

however lack of AF micro adjustment is very disappointing. Probably won't get it because of that.

but if you are looking into portable affordable same quality pictures and hd recording.. then you should go for the canon sx210is. has great image quality and great video recording aswell..
As for features, there are tons.
Its the best digital Camera for now. unless they come up with an upgraded version. but i doubt they will.

Would you recommend me getting the Canon powershot SD1400( or Canon ixus 130 as it is known in UK) As a portable, cheap, good quality camera.. Its is £175 ish on amazon.. I might be alone on this one, but the flip out screen makes the entire camera feel more cheap and plasticy. And as far as i know, this is being made to most part in engineering plastic and not magnesium alloy, so the build quality is lacking aswell. The only upgrade from the 50D for me would be the movie mode, but i'd much rather spend a couple of hundred bucks more and get the 7D.

The bottom line is: cheaper camera: more sales. You will see it when their time ends (meaning when 7D is gone and 60D is gone).
Most pro and semipro users dont realize the fact: if a camera costs like 7D, or 5D and 1D it doesnt sell much, even though it is really good and has EVERYTHING. I bet Canon's most selling DSLR is 1000D at the moment. The most sold DSLR camera is propably the 450D.
60D may replacing 50D in numbers, but the camera is like 7D was: not replacing anything.

@Tennishead39 the 60D isn't replacing the 50D just yet...if it were, why would it be the same price as the 50D. This has features from the 50D, t2i, and 7D all mixed up into one camera, with it's own new features, ever before seen in a Canon DSLR.
