I USE MACS, AND THEY'RE GREAT. i also use an i7 sandy bridge PC that i made to game. so yes, macs don't have the hardware to game, but that's not their soul purpose. they cost so much because of apple's development and design budget, and the apple support system. in my opinion i think their support is fantastic. my PC games far better than any mac. but my macs can do anything else i need, far better. so there you go. mac=pc. (to some extent)

Well I must say it's a relief to finally discuss something with one who knows what a period is. At any rate, it's not really fair to criticize him for not donating his old computer. If we were to follow that line of argument to its logical conclusion he never would have gotten a computer in the first place and would now be living in a cardboard box because he gave everything to needy folk and such. And people gave the cash knowing what he planned anyways, so it really doesn't matter.

I personally have no problem with the quality of products made in China. To put it into a non-bias context, my iPod was made in China, and it's one of the sturdiest gadgets that I've ever owned- this was the generation 1 shuffle btw. The labor force is the same, just China's economy lets it be much cheaper.

Actually many things made in America are often crap because it's expensive to produce so the companies save money in other aspects producing under-quality products.

This isn't true of all of them though. My '08 Mac Pro was made in the USA, as were several of my older iMacs. I also have machines made in Mexico, and a PowerBookG4 from Quanta, Taiwan. All iPods in the "Classic" line seem to be made in Shanghai (China,) but Macs themselves are made all over the world. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if any of my Macs are from China proper.

I've worked on professional videos in the past and I'm very familiar with the programs Vinnie uses so I can understand why he needed a G5 (this video was made before the Mac Pro was released in August 2007.)

Furthermore, there are two things that sell in Hollywood: The first is sex and the second is explosions. Vinnie opted for the latter in a humorous and tasteful manner, and his G4 became a pretty awesome prop for this video. I give it five stars for creativity and ingenuity.

D'oh! You're right, that was a stupid typo on my part. The August 2006 model was the first Mac Pro, labeled MacPro1,1; there was a minor bump (8-Cores standard/"Clovertown" CPUs) in August '07, and while Apple labeled these machines "MacPro2,1" they still considered them part of the "Early 2006" model line. The next update was the MacPro3,1 in (February?) 2008, and the MacPro4,1 in (March?) 2009. We're due for the MacPro5,1 anytime now. :D
