@TheDreamClaw Was it called Wildtrack or something with Tony Soper? - I think the theme music was a tune called "The Pursuit Of Accidents" by Level 42.
@Petedrumsbass Nah , that wasn't it , (was that one from "The really wild show" ?) I think the one I'm looking for might have been late 70's maybe not 80's , I heard it on T.V the other day too lol...
At the age of 39 I find it physically impossible to go to any zoo/safari park and not do Johnny Morris impressions of the animals. My one year old looks at me like I'm a nutter.
I think Johnny Morris was brilliant. Anyone got a copy of the zoo stories he used to read? Also reckon he was the BEST reader of Thomas the Tank engine. who could forget his interpretation of the voices of Annie & Clarabel?
Newsround is crap now - they had a cat quiz on the website on which if you scored 3/5 that was 'very good' and 4/5 was 'purrfect' - which it isn't, 5/5 is 'purrfect', all this pandering to make over-praise mediocrity by debasing the language. Craven never patronised his viewers, he set up the program to inform children of the day's affairs, and it was good old fashioned TV journalism, not the plinky-plinky squidgy graphic harry potter news-bites shit they catapult at kids' faces now.
the fucking bbc have more money these days but non of the inevetion that went into to kids shows in those days now it's just loud shit music patronising presenetrs gimky techniques all butered over with a politcly corect surface it just shows what turning over the family business to a bunch of media studies grads gets you fucking crap !
@Runrome I think Newsround is the ultimate dumbed down programme. Rather than caption someone, say, 'John Smith Tiger Expert', they put 'John Smith Knows Loads About Tigers'
hello johnny. i copy johnny and give various birds (mainly pigeons) and our street's cat funny voices. our daughter thinks it's hilarious. thanks for that johnny. happy memories
Johnny Morris was probably britains first ever vegetarian. He stopped eating meat when in his early 20's after he saw a sheep in the road that had been hit by a car and saw all its entrails sticking out. I reckon that would put a lot of people off eating meat too.
Animal Magic WAS a sitcom! W animals and improv script. Better than most current sitcoms though. More informative/interesting. Better acting and script. Funnier. More creative. More original. Less pandering.
@Ashworth6 Don't complain. You should see the rubbish we get on Spanish tv, non-stop crappy reality-shows followed by gossip shows talking about the same nobodies. Unfortunately, these nobodies earn fantastic sums of money by giving us lessons in vulgarity.
Genius! Quite possibly the grooviest tv theme tune of all time, it should be available on cd or to download....
Words can't express how cool this tune is!
Anybody know what years they used this music for, somewhere in the back of my mind I seem to recall them using the flutey 'Florida Fantasy' tune from the 'Midnight Cowboy' soundtrack sometime in the 80's....
Wow! This is the theme tune I remembered. The funny thing is, I always thought this was a totally different piece of music form the Laurie Johnson version, but its actually just a 70s re-working with wah wah guitar and Fender Rhodes piano.
its a great clip But not the original arrangement of the tune, as the original tune was By laurie johnson who also did the Avengers, the new Avengers, the professionals, so many others
That's not the theme tune I remember ?

This tune's 'proper name' is "Las Vegas", and it does indeed have a flashing and flickering casino signs vibe.

What a completely wonderful guy. He did a radio series about his travels in America. His version of "Have a nice day" was hysterical. Bravo.
