  • Love this track! Does Hank ever play a bum note if so, I've never heard him?

With such a pure tone it would stand out a mile - just shows what a competent (great) guitarist he really is - great posting sirpeter 1946 - many thanks!

  • This is overdubbed. look at the part where Hank is improvising over the original. the hand is not where that tones come from...

  • @stringbender1982 Yes, its really interesting. And the sound of his improvising a little different.

  • "This was my favorite they payed for the movie of the same name, with Sean Connery as the star in 1961."

  • James Bond? Sean Connery 1961...

  • They are modern masters. Shadows and Ventures is the best instrubands a world.

  • What saddens me most about my generation and kids my age (15) is that they don't appreciate music such as this. And for calling the Shadows my favorite band I'm just called a nerd. =/

  • im a bluesplayer from maryland trying to craft my sound and have gotta say that ever since i've discovered the shadows, my playing has gotten the praise "New passion with old style soul and sound" i wish i couldve played with hank. makes me glad my main squeeze is a red strat.

  • najlepsza muzuka instrumentalna lat 60 którą słuchamy wszyscy po 40 latach

  • I remeber this so well. after watching them play i pestered my mum to buy me a guitar.. after much rangling i got a red hofner colorama. the nearest thing to a stratocaster in those days. ( rare they were in uk) I practiced night and day with my mate phil and we ended up playing all the pubs and youth clubs. ( they had youth clubs then ) . we did have a laugh

  • Sometimes I think the Shadows are just a bit too . . . nice. When they go into the melody at 0.56 I nearly threw up into my Special K.

I'm not eating Special K, that was just to illustrate the point.

I love Hank and the boys, but they do irk me on occasion.

  • perfect comment.. im a limey that grew up with these chaps , however .many of us from that era think that the ventures had the raw edge !! decide for youself !!

  • I would not mind their bank account!

  • Would the REAL Sirpeter1946 please stand up. The one that can write perfect English!!

  • ok u catch me

walks from backstage to the front and bows with a smile

smashs his '59 italian EKU guitar on the floor and walks back into the shadow ;)to continue with english lesson for beginner part 2

  • I hope you are not upset by my little wind-ups. I have enjoyed your Shadows postings very much so thank you for taking the trouble :)

  • Well does anyone know who the old git is at the begining, the one taking the bow and then jumping around in the background like a pratt?

  • thats Organplayer Cliff Hall

and the pratt is shure u respectless anonymious thing

go to ur tokio hotel fan page ;)

  • No sense of humour!!!

  • shure i have and i like humor

but are u shure,to call ppls names is humorous?

    well then i am humorless

  • Tony Meehan was the best!!

  • Can anyone tell me who the old git is at the begining?

  • Hank and bruce playing on Fender Stratocasters

  • Very funny Sirpeter!!

  • well.. u asked for the old guitars and i answered your question,so whats funny?

  • Git as in 'old man', not guitar.

  • sorry for not using pidgin-english-Webster's ;)

  • The drums and the bass here have no life, don't compare remotely to Jet and Tony, who played as if they meant it on the original recordings

  • That's truth...

  • the best instrumental music in the world vivan las sombras muchos grupos eric clapton se inspiro en la musica de las sombras muchos grupos de los 50s 60s se inspiraron en las sombras musica para pensar y meditar.

  • The druming of Brian Bennett was so sophisticated, less drive more polish than Tony Meehan's, but this version of a Shad's great is crap compared with the drums on the original recording, drummingwise. Otherwise, luv'em

  • Dakota from Fremus Records

    Atlantis from Fremus records

  • the only atlantis record i know is a single, which you can buy on ebay, but i dont know about dakota.I will keep looking in the uk for you

  • tnx a lot in advance Both are LP not singles

made from the south african illegal tour

when SA was on list of coutrys to be not visited in sport and all due to rassic problems

  • they always seem to be having a great time!I have just about all the recordings they did.True greats from the 60s 70s 80s & 90s

  • i also but i still look for the 2 LP from Fremus with south african bootlegs Dakota+Atlantis

bear family dont sell them anymore

u know where to get them?

  • what is the full name of the album you are looking for?

  • There are instrumentalists out there. No where near the shadows of gold.

  • There is something with hank's sound on this specific concert.

Something in the colour of the tone...

    I love it!

  • Great!

One of my favourites from that tour!
