5.3 impala ss vs. vr4 galant

Slow for a 5.3 in a car. It has the SAME 0-60 time stock as an accord, camry, maxima, crap...and the 6 cylinder impalas are slower than that. Our sheriffs office has the 2010 Impalas and they suck

Stock those cars are lame. Modded, maybe better. Bash all u want too, I don't care, but my wife and I just raced a SS Impala from a dead stop twice and he had me by one car length in a "grocery getter" RAV4 3.5, and we ran a half mile before he backed off. Not impressed with the lame bottom end torque in a "family car." 5.3 and over 300 hp and torque. He was by hisself and I had 3 people total in our car...

@mcfartard Actually those 5.3L LS4's put down 303 on the DYNO stock, they didn't make very many SS Impala's. They use the same engine in the GXP Grand Prix which'll do 0-60 in about 5.4 seconds with a good set of tires.

I fail to see how the Galant VR-4 is a ricer car. It's got some decent power and torque, plus it has AWD, but sadly, it is no match for the Impala SS's V8. At higher speeds, the AWD drags down the Galant, and I think the Impala just may be more aerodynamic.

It should have been pretty obvious the Impala SS has the upper hand on the freeways.

It was stated that this car also comes in a V6 model, some consider it more impressive than the V8, which is why some police interceptors are the V6 variant of this vehicle. It's a cheaper version and going from 300hp to 240hp isn't that great of a loss. You really need to keep your mouth closed as you know nothing of what you're trying to talk about.
